Wholesale Drop Shipping: How to Make Money From Home Using Ebay

March 5th, 2013 10 comments

A wholesale drop shipper allows you to sell items without keeping a physical inventory. The company provides and stores products, then, when someone buys an item from an EBay business owner for example, that owner simply processes the order and sends it and payment onto the drop shippers who then package and ship the product to the customer. All you have to do is sell the products listed on the pages of a wholesale drop shipper’s web site for more than the drop shipper is charging and you’ll be on the way to an easy profit.

Drop shippers and wholesalers are an invaluable resource for all EBay store owners. They provide a means of simplifying the entire ordering process and enable entrepreneurs to make greater profits. The customer never knows that a third party exists because drop shippers will package the product using the EBay business owner’s labeling. By purchasing the products at wholesale prices, the EBay store owner profits the difference between that price and the winning bid amount while the drop shippers take care of everything else.

The beauty of drop shipping is that it is virtually risk free. Any business which fails to use a wholesale drop shipping company must bear the expense of buying the inventory and waiting until a sale is made before recuperating an investment. By using drop shippers, nothing is paid out until the customer’s payment is received. It is an ideal arrangement for people with little start up capital.

Basically, time is the only thing that an EBay business owner must invest when using drop shipping. And the majority of that time is spent on research, trying to find the best wholesale drop shippers to supply the quality products they wish to sell.

However, be warned, it is not all smooth sailing. It can take hours to find a reliable source. Believe me, searching for wholesale drop shipper companies using Google turns up middleman and broker network offers almost exclusively.
‘Brokers’ often have a very elaborate system of steps you need to take. Effectively, all that these companies are offering you is a commission sales situation. They require a W-9 to participate, something no real drop ship supplier would demand. In general you should NEVER, EVER pay a fee just to talk with someone about what they offer. No reputable business would require this.

A middleman drop ship company positions itself between the manufacturer/distributor wholesale drop shipper and the retailer. They generally aggregate many different suppliers and present them under ‘one roof’. Many charge a monthly fee and also have per order drop ship fees. In general, middlemen are best avoided as it is difficult to find profitable product lines given their mark up, participation fees, and per order drop ship fees. However, some companies do offer money making potential and if you have lots of time to spare this may be worth pursuing, for example the free trial at Doba.

The true wholesale drop shipping companies referred to throughout this article are manufacturers and distributors who are willing to work directly with internet retailers. You can use these sources to stock your EBay store or other online marketplace and stand to make a good profit. They require little or no money of EBay business owners, and they even take care of the entire logistics involved in getting an item to your customer. So if you are serious about making money on EBay look into the world of drop shipping today. Visit salehoo for a great list of wholesale drop shippers.

How do i find items to sell on eBay and make a decent profit?

January 17th, 2013 3 comments

EBay is a good source of extra income. But I’m not sure where to find GOOD items to sell on eBay (buy low sell high). If any one who is selling on eBay would like to share extra info please email me. The consideration is appreciated.

wholesalers. international companies like china. i would first check what prices are going for so i can match what prices people are buying at, so i wouldnt overpay for something and trying to sell it out to lose money.

How can you obtain a business license to sell on eBay and craigslist out of a residence? We just got denied!?

December 16th, 2012 2 comments

We offer a variety of services, including auction assistance on eBay and craigslist – today we were denied a business license because they said we cannot sell items on eBay out of our home – we must have a retail location. There must be a way around this – as MANY have this type business.

Skip the license? That’s actually what one of my business professors advised. Don’t get a license until your level of sales proves you can sustain a business profitably. A state (or city) business license is really just a formality anyway. Yes, you can get fined or even shut down for not having one, and I am not advocating you break the law. And some form of licensing is required in most areas. You will need a reseller number to purchase items at wholesale from some wholesalers. But a reseller number is also the same number as your EIN. I offer this service for $75, email me if you need it.

First, reapply, explain that you are not selling products from your home. You’re not. You are selling products on the internet and all customers arrive soley from the internet, no one ever shows up at your home.

If that doesn’t work you can try a third party – someone who already has a license and offer to share theirs for a percentage of your income.

Next, try a third party provider – a business that supplies city, state and federal registration and licenses. You can find them with an online search.

If all the above doesn’t work, email me, I may be able to help further.

I am looking to buy products from China to Re-sell in Uk & Europe, does anyone have any ideas or advice?

December 6th, 2012 4 comments

As a Real Estate Agent and due to the decline in property sales here in Spain I am looking for a new direction, possibly (import/export), and see China as a huge expanding market and opportunity. Does anyone have any experience or advice on a product, or would you like to join me in pooling ideas, and maybe a joint venture? If the idea exites you please reply.

Sincerely,
Riomar

Hi Riomar,

I’ve been buying and selling different kinds of stuff from Chinese wholesalers and in my experience, the secret lies in finding the right kind of suppliers. You’ve gotta make sure that you’re dealing with legimiate suppliers because there are many middlemen who’ll take your money and supply damaged products or even nothing.

All my wholesale career, I’ve kept eBay my forefront of trade because I can appeal to many customers. Although I do run a small store where I sell my items at cheap prices. If you haven’t heard of Worldwide Brands yet, you should definitely give it a try. It’s by far, the best and most complete wholesale directory in the world. Here’s the link:
http://www.worldwidebrands.com/?kbid=18160

They are the only company certified by eBay itself and they verify every wholesale supplier in their directory personally. They host their own 2 radio shows in the US for the "Entreprenuer" magazine.

how do I get more customers to buy my products?

December 2nd, 2012 6 comments

run an online shop. very slow at the moment, I have done lots of advertising and networking. so why aren’t people purchasing.

You need to sell things that people want, usually with brand names!

Here’s a link to a list of wholesalers that sell high street and designer clothing for as little as £1.50. I buy from them and I actually make loads because I bought them so cheap I can actually afford to sell them much cheaper to customers so I’m making loads more sales!

Good luck!

How to become Ebay Powerseller?

July 17th, 2012 1 comment

My goal is to be a ebay powerseller. I searched online for items of what to sell on Ebay all I come up with is Garage sales. Does anyone have any tips on finding drop shippers or wholesalers or know items i can buy on craigslist and resale on Ebay? or just tips in general? my ebay user ID is "shema60619" any advice or leads will be appreciated.

You need to build your feedback. You need to have a certain amount of feedback first.

Sell more things around the house and keep your feedback up.

You can look for dropshippers but there’s a reason people don’t use them. Sell what you know. I sell used and vintage clothing and I’m an ebay powerseller.

Be registered with eBay for at least 90 days.
Have an account in good standing.
Maintain a positive Feedback of 98% or higher over the past 12 months.
Follow all eBay policies.
Have a minimum of 100 transactions and $3,000 in sales with US buyers over the past 12 months.
Receive at least a 4.60 average from US buyers across all 4 detailed seller ratings (DSRs).
For all transactions with US buyers, have no more than 1.00% of transactions with low DSRs (1s or 2s) on item as described, and a maximum of 2.00% of low DSRs on communication, shipping time, and shipping and handling charges.
For all transactions with US buyers, have no more than 1.00% of transactions result in opened eBay Buyer Protection and PayPal Buyer Protection cases, and no more than 0.30% of transactions result in closed cases without seller resolution.

I am formally calling for the resignation of John Donahoe for screwing up ebay and for putting small sellers out of business. Ebay has now crossed the line with online movie promotion. Stop buying on Ebay and call for John Donahoe to step down asap!
