Making More Money on Ebay

March 1st, 2013 5 comments

There are many ways you can make money on ebay, from selling stuff you no longer need, all the way up to selling merchandise from a wholesaler. This is not the limit however, of the wonderful methods of generating cash off of the world of ebay. You can sell property, cars, boats, and even businesses. There have been transactions as low as a dollar, all the way up to business transfers that run into the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Ebay is clearly here to stay, now it is time for you to get your feet wet on this great money making opportunity.

Here we will focus on selling for a wholesaler, this is where you will promote other peoples products and sell them for a cut of the profit. Lets say for example you find a product you are interested in such as say, stereo speakers. You will then search for a wholesaler that will accept a contract with someone that deals in affiliates and ebay, with the proof that you are an ebay seller and can verify the account on ebay this should not be hard. Once you have landed this contract with the wholesaler, it is time to set up market strategies, and make sure they conform to what the wholesaler finds acceptable. Make a plan, check it twice and get to work selling.

Once you have the site available for the public to view, you need to weigh out some of the business expenses that will ensure you are not spending more than you are making. By having multiple payment options you can be sure you have all your sales basis covered. One of the biggest expenses you will encounter will be shipping and storage costs. It is not likely that you will have the space in your home to store a couple thousand pairs of home speakers, and this notion would require some sort of insurance that will be required in order for the wholesaler to relinquish the product to you. Any notion that you can rent space for cheap is improbable, and again will still require insurance as a measure of protection for you and the wholesaler. So what do you do? Well the answer is simple; you have the wholesaler keep the product, and ship when necessary to the customer when purchased.

This will keep the entire product in one place, alleviate the need to worry about shipping, and still ensure that you are able to make the sale. Once the product is sold to a customer, you simply place the order to the wholesaler, they will in turn send the product, charge you for the wholesale cost and the holding and shipping cost and the rest is yours to keep. This is not a difficult task and you do not even need to leave your seat. What you really need to do is research the product, and its competitors and finds a price that is reasonable, and will generate the best profit for what you are doing. What you are really doing is selling the goods like a salesman on a store floor. All the while not even leaving your home, you do not even really need to monitor this whole process, as the customer’s invoice will come in to you via e-mail.

How much are military payment certificates worth?

January 13th, 2013 1 comment

I have a guy trying to sell me 3 of them for $150. I dont know anything about them. They are series 461 I think. The notes are 5 cents, 10 cents and 25 cents. All in mint condition. Any help would be great thanks

,
Ripoff!
I’m going to ‘Enter’ this answer, then ‘Edit’ it to include WHY it’s a ripoff. Give me about 10-15 minutes and I’ll have a fuller reason and explanation.

*641 is the Vietnam-era series. More in a few minutes, okay? Was it 641 he’s talking about, or 461 (I think you meant 641, yes?)

But don’t buy them at that price… $15, NOT $150, would be fair.

But $150 is scamworthy.
.

EDIT:
the 641 series was used for years, starting before Vietnam but was ended in late 1968. We were paid in those MPCs instead of American dollars because the U.S. Gov’t didn’t want soldiers spending actual dollars in the Vietnamese businesses like bars, brothels and restaurants.

Because MPC was so common (we were paid once a month, reliably), the Vietnamese businesses accepted MPC. When the changeover to the next Series occurred, all military bases were closed down for the whole day. We had to turn in all of our 641 MPC in the morning; in the afternoon, we got an equivalent of MPC in the new series. 641 was "dead," because the Vietnamese had NO WAY to change the 641 MPC to the new Series issue.

They were SCREAMING the next day; none of them would accept MPC any more, because they had thousands of dollars worth of now-worthless ‘paper.’

But evidently, a lot of Vietnamese must have saved what they thought was going to be worthless paper forever. Then eBay came along and there’s a brisk business in MPC of all series, especially the 641 because so many of us "know" those bills.

The $10 Series 641 is worth anywhere from $10 on up, depending on condition, of course, but if you get on eBay and enter "military payment certificates" you will see a boatload of choices. Click on a few different items and see what they’re selling for. SOME folks might be offering stuff at top dollar, but you don’t necessarily have to pay high prices.

The $5 bill in 641 is one of the more rare bills but even then I’ve gotten good deals, including a guy on eBay whose name is "routemama" or routemama44… check him out. But check out several vendors, in order to get a feel for who gives value. Take notes, ‘cuz you’ll never remember everything.
If you’re not an eBay member, you still can sign in as a guest. You might even be able to click on "watch this item,." If you can, do that for different vendors selling the same bills, for comparison’s sake. Also, some vendors use the "Buy It Now" technique, with the for-sale price visible: check those out, too, just to see with no-haggling offering prices are.

The sub-1 dollar MPC (the 5, 10, 25cent MPC) were more common generally, therefore worth less, in my experience, than the $1, $5 and $10 bills. There are also coins/tokens available that various EM (Enlisted Men’s) and Officer’s Clubs used as substitutes and/or for change. There probably found in the MPC category as well.

Ironically, what had been totally useless 40 years ago is now worth MORE than it was then!

Good luck.

How can I make a living from my computer at home.?

December 28th, 2012 7 comments

I have broadband and can use a computer okay is it possible to make a living from a computer at home.

First of all, don’t gamble online, unless you seek a quick way to get rid of cash. Secondly, making money online at home IS possible. I make thousands of dollars at home for years now, but of course the start is always hard and may be very slow.

You will probably need to get a blog, you can host it free and even start with a free sbdomain, until you feel you are comfortable paying 10$ a year for a domain name.

Once your blog is set up and promoted a lil` bit, you can make money writing sponsored reviews, placing Google Adsense (contextual ads that pay per click), selling advertising space on your blog, or earning commissions through affiliate sales.

I made quite a few posts about it on my blog, maybe you’d want to have a lil` more insight into it. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

http://www.toptut.com/category/making-money-online/

Also, you can use eBay (or Amazon) to sell unwanted goods or sell anything you actually produce offline, just do a lil` research on the market, what sells and what doesn’t, so you’ll get a rough idea about what’s in demand. I normally list stuff I don’t need and half of what I list sells, bearing in mind that I list total crap, like local coins, free mascaras and perfume samples I get with purchase, etc. Anything that is worthless to you may sell and earn you something extra. so Good luck!

Who can tell me whether online penny auction is a scam or not?

December 12th, 2012 5 comments

As we all know, online penny auction has become more and more popular throughout the world with an increasing number of followers. But there are also some bad comments about it. Should I believe in this kind of online auction?

It is a scam. Here’s a good tip: anytime it occurs to you to ask whether something is a scam or not, it’s a scam.

Here’s how penny auctions work: A seller lists a valuable item for the unbelievably low price of a penny. Then, bidders compete with one another to win the auction, with each bid only increasing the cost by one penny. At the end, someone wins a sports car or similar for $118.96. Sounds amazing, right?

Wrong. To use these sites, you have to BUY bids. Each bid that you place costs you an exorbitant amount–something like ten bucks. "Okay," you might be telling yourself, "Ten bucks plus $118.96 is $128.96. That’s a steal for a sports car!" It’s not that simple. For EACH bid, someone paid $10, which means that car went for $11,896 worth of bid fees, plus the winning amount of $118.96, for a total of $12,014.96 to the seller.

All you do when you bid on those sites is pay $10 toward an item that somebody else will win. If you’re the final bidder, that’s great, but the auctions extend for 10 minutes every time somebody bids. You and ONE other person could be bidding on the same item for hours or days, and at the end, you’ve both spent thousands of dollars on bids for something that only one of you will win.

It’s a scam, plain and simple. Things that seem too good to be true ARE too good to be true.

How do I pay for a home purchased at a foreclosure auction?

December 4th, 2012 2 comments

In my county (Fulton County, Georgia), when a home is auctioned off for tax reasons, payment must be made within an hour of the auction close. The payment must be made in cash or certified funds. How would I pay for a home purchased as a bank foreclosure? Same? It seems difficult to show up with hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash.

You will need to get pre-approved with a hard money lender.
But you need one who will do "at the steps" funding. They can fund the same day of the auction.

Go to the local REIA to find a hard money lender.

How can I make a profit selling on ebay?

November 18th, 2012 2 comments

I’m in high school and I play sports all year-round, so it’s hard for me to get a job. I remember seeing an infomercial one time about selling on ebay and people making thousands of dollars a month. Now I’m not looking to make that much money, but I want to know how. What do these people sell that they are profiting from? You can’t just sell your own stuff and make money. So what do I do?

If you want to earn serious money from eBay, you need to have a well-thought out business model. Selling on ebay is getting tougher — just look at the number of auctions that closes without a bid. Go to the boards on ebay and you will hear even oldtimers complaining about how stiffer competition plus higher fees make it so much harder to sell on ebay.

The key success factor is: Sell products that people actually want.

Selling on eBay is not as easy as some portray. In fact, go to eBay and check out the number of auctions that end without a single bid. Competition is getting tough, as more sellers go to eBay; even the big boys are joining in the eBay marketplace. Add to that the increasing listing and final value fees.

eBay has several ways for you to determine exactly what the hot items to sell on their marketplace:

Items In Demand = the most popular items currently within that particular category. To see the In Demand page, go to http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/sellbycategory.html

Hot Items by Category Report = a monthly report that lists the fastest growing categories on eBay for the previous month. Go to http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/whatshot.html and select "Hot Items by Category" from the menu on the left.

eBay Pulse = "a daily snapshot of current trends, hot picks, and cool stuff on eBay". Go to http://pulse.ebay.com/ to see eBay Pulse in action.

Merchandising Calendar = eBay promotes specific categories on its home page each month. Savvy eBayers know that this home page exposure results in more interest in such categories. Go to http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/calendar.html to view the current Merchandising Calendar.

But understand that eBay has a minimum age of 18 policy.

Making Money Selling Ebooks on Ebay

June 10th, 2012 4 comments

Information is the key to making money, but it comes at a price. If you have the information that other people want, however, you can sell it at a huge profit. It’s not unheard for sellers with educational ebooks to make thousands of dollars per week, just by selling their ebooks on eBay. It’s surprisingly easy to get started, and you don’t even need to write your own ebook to do it.

There are literally thousands of ebooks available on the internet, both free and for a small fee. Finding the right ebooks to sell on eBay is perhaps the hardest part of the process. You need to find an ebook that offers information that other people need, but that isn’t readily available elsewhere. For this reason, most successful sellers stay away from free ebooks, as it isn’t difficult for other people to find these ebooks themselves.

Instead, purchasing ebooks for a low price along with the resale rights seems to be the way to go. Resale rights are important to consider, especially if you intend on allowing your buyers to resell the ebook themselves. Without resale rights, you cannot legally sell the ebook you have purchased. Research the resale rights that you are getting along with your ebook purchase to see if there are any restrictions that prevent you from selling the ebook in certain places, or if there is a price limit you must adhere to.

Once you have a solid inventory of ebooks, it’s time to start selling! To sell your ebooks on eBay, though, you need to familiarize yourself with eBay’s new rules with regard to digital products. You can no longer allow instant downloads of ebooks purchased through eBay. Instead, you must deliver a tangible product to your buyers to sell within eBay’s rules. A good way to do this is by copying your ebooks onto a CD when a buyer makes a purchase. You can then mail the ebook on CD to your buyers.

While some sellers see this method as a setback, it actually poses a benefit to your buyers. In the past, when a buyer purchased an ebook that they digitally downloaded, they could eventually lose the ebook when upgrading computers or reformatting their hard drive. They would then have to repurchase the same ebook, if it was even still available, or be out the money and the ebook.

With a CD, your buyers have a permanent hard copy of the ebook they purchased. That means if they have computer issues, or decide to upgrade their machine, they don’t have to worry about losing the ebooks they purchased from you. They can simply insert the CD into their CD-ROM drive, and their ebook is instantly available again.

Ebooks are an easy product to sell on eBay, and can be a great source of income for anyone. Even if you don’t have the time or the knowledge to write your own ebook, there are thousands of ebooks you can purchase for a low price specifically for selling on eBay. And once you purchase an ebook, you can resell it as many times as you’d like – your income potential is virtually limitless!

Auction- the Best Way for a Seller to Get Their Property!

February 4th, 2012 3 comments

“Do online real estate auctions really work?” is a common question from sellers who are new to using online auctions to market a property. The answer: Yes, they do work! If they didn’t work, we would be seeing a decline in online real estate auctions and instead we are seeing an increase.

Prior to the popularity of the Internet, only live auctions were available. A live auction is successful in drawing attention, but they require coordination, advertising and auctioneer fees. It’s not uncommon for a seller to pay thousands of dollars upfront and it doesn’t guarantee a property will sell. Live auctions are still successful today and there will always be a place for them or go to www.auction-words.com

today, the Internet is changing the real estate auction industry. An online auction can be just as successful in drawing attention and doesn’t require as much cost upfront. The success will still be related to how well it is advertised and whether it’s a good deal, but an online auction is an easier alternative and available to more sellers. In today’s market where properties are not selling as fast, sellers are looking for more options. As a result, more sellers are turning to online real estate auctions as a solution.

Another reason that online real estate auctions are becoming popular is because buyers are more comfortable bidding online. No longer are online auctions just for “as-is”, sight unseen properties. Some sellers are helping encourage bids by giving access to the property, allowing inspection periods and/or providing inspection reports. Another reason for their popularity is that it’s easier to bid than to write up a sales contract. All negotiation is automated and done on line.

The winning bid on an online real estate auction site like EBay.com or REIAuctions.com is similar to a verbal commitment. It doesn’t become binding until a sale contract is signed or visit www.auctions-profits.com that doesn’t mean a bidder should not be serious about following through, but it does allow them to submit bids without worrying about getting “stuck” with a property if a problem is uncovered.

However, it’s now a buyer’s market and that’s changing how online real estate auctions are run. For example, more and more auction listings provide buyers a way to view a property and do their due diligence before bidding. As auctions are still the best way for a seller to get their property noticed, it’s not a surprise that more sellers are combining that marketing power with flexibility to make their property more appealing.

An auction is still the best way to market or find a deal on a property. As buyer confidence grows and the online Real Estate auction success continues, more sellers will move to online auctions, changing the way real estate is bought and sold for everyone.

Why An Ebay Seller Needs To Keep A Close Watch On Profits, Not Sales Volume

January 21st, 2012 No comments

One mistake that business owners make is that they focus on overall revenue instead of profits. While this thinking is flawed in any business, it can be especially dangerous in an eBay business.

Part of the problem is that this type of thinking is promoted by eBay. For example, you need to reach a certain level of sales volume to qualify for eBay Powerseller programs.

Sellers will also frequently sell products even if they’re not making money on them just so that they can build up their feedback.

I’m here to tell you that if your primary focus isn’t on the amount of profit your eBay business is making then you won’t have an eBay business for very long. It’s not true that if you have enough gross revenue that there will be some net revenue around. Trust me; it’s possible to have a lot of overall sales without making any money.

I remember back when I was more active with selling on eBay that I had a lot of months where I sold tens of thousands of dollars worth of merchandise every month, but when I actually sat down and crunched the numbers, I’d actually LOST money for the month. Then there were times where I sold only a few thousand dollars worth of items, but over half the revenue was profit. Can you guess which method I ultimately stayed with?

When I first started my eBay business, I’ll admit that I had this flawed thinking that as long as I got my sales volume up, I’d make more money. What I found was that the more stuff I sold, the more time it took up to fulfill the orders, more packing materials I had to keep on hand, and the more fees I had to pay eBay. The added cost of all these items wasn’t necessarily added into my acquisition costs.

The flaw in my thinking was looking at how much the item would cost me and then looking to see how much it sold for. If the selling price was higher than cost, even just a little bit, I’d buy it.

Eventually I got wiser (probably because I had to in order to stay in business) and started to focus on what items I could purchase and sell for a nice profit. While my sales volume definitely dipped, I made more money, and actually had more time to pursue other business interests.

So if you’d like your eBay business to still be open this time next year, then make sure you’re focusing on the right numbers – the bottom line, not the top.

Selling On Amazon

November 7th, 2011 No comments

Most many people have heard about, participated in or bought a book through what is referred to as an Amazon most desirable seller campaign. There are some Amazon campaigns that are tremendously properly planned, when other people are lacking in most approaches.

The question in most authors thoughts is How do I come to be an Amazon most desirable seller Initially of all, you have to have a program. You do not even have to have a book at this point you just have to have to have a program.

1 of the most valuable items in your program is the date you are going to do the launch. You also have to have to program on who will be the project manager of the web based bestseller campaign you or an individual else.

There are pros and cons to each. If you do it oneself, it is going to be a lot way more expense productive. In spite of this, you have to have to make confident you have systems in location ahead of you launch your campaign. If you do not you can basically have a tremendous failure and you can let a lot of many people down by not getting systems in location.

If you program to employ an knowledgeable campaign coordinator you will probably pay thousands, and even tens of thousands of dollars for their services.

This might possibly appear like a lot of revenue, but when you look into all that is involved, it can be a marvelous way for you to come to be a bestselling author with exceptionally small perform on your portion as far as the promoting goes. Hiring an web based bestseller campaign coordinator is like hiring a PR individual.

The job of the campaign coordinator is to secure the perfect type of partners and bonuses. They have to have ongoing communication with the partners. They have to either style the webpage or have the webpage developed.

Just about every individual contracted for aspects of the campaign have to be figured into the spending budget. The campaign coordinator offers with any challenges that can take place through the arranging and implementation stages. Challenges can incorporate JV partners pulling out at the last minute, slow response time from partners, and convincing a publisher this is a viable way to sell books.

With the perfect program, vision and team you can stay clear of most of the challenges an inexperienced individual will encounter.
