Studying Historical PPC Ad Trends to Optimize Your Seasonal Ad Campaigns

March 8th, 2013 No comments

Nowadays, a lot of online businesses rely heavily on certain seasons for increased sales volume. As of this writing, the month of September for most industries indicate a significant time for sales — it’s back-to-school in the US; it’s the early start of Halloween and Christmas preparation for Christian nations; it’s the beginning of vacation booking for some travel enthusiasts. If you are an online marketer that could benefit from such events, then you might just want to invest on the trend when the demand is in full bloom, because if you’re not prepared as a seasonal marketer, you will not reap the fruits of a demanding market during this buying season.

Research and well-tested ad campaign techniques are keys to handling seasonal activities in the online market. So when seasonal advertising time is approaching, you should be equipped with the knowledge of knowing the profitable keywords from related websites around a month before the season.

For example, you are planning to sell gift items this coming Christmas such as jewelry, clothes, perfume and toys. You should do a research of shopping sites, such as buy.com, Amazon and ebay.com, and determine their high-paying keywords. Competitive intelligence tools such as KeywordSpy.com can be a big help in this marketing pursuit. It can gather keywords of marketers in all types of industries and allow you to get good ideas on keyword advertising. You can also check its Time Machine feature, this KeywordSpy thing lets you look at keywords other advertisers have used in the past.

So based on our first example, you may look for Christmas-oriented sites in KeywordSpy Time Machine and check their November and December 2007 keywords and ad copies, then see for yourself the keyword advertising strategies which will be helpful in your own site campaign on December 2008.

In short, if your business has various high points throughout the year, try to review the past promotional and marketing campaigns of your industry so you can improve your next target season. I really suggest that you give the Time Machine a shot. This is the only keyword tool feature that I have seen giving months’ worth of advertising information. Would you believe, I found out through KeywordSpy Time Machine that divorce sites such as Divorcesyourself.com boost their advertising during months of February and March? Perhaps this can be credited to the fact that the Valentines madness is in the air during these months, and divorce sites are targeting the emotional spots of “attached people”, by subtly suggesting that they should prioritize their need for divorce to be with their “true love.” So, how is that for an advertising gold mine if you are in the “divorce industry”? You can simply copy the keywords and improve the ad copies of well-performing divorce sites in certain periods and months.

Whoever said that “moving forward” is the best thing to do in this world” is simply not always right especially in this case. Cause in the world of seasonal advertising, it is good to “look backwards” and review the good and bad in the past season, for you to cherry-pick and carry the good ones in the next.

The theory is the same when choosing your keyword and ad copies for your targeted seasons, learn from the sites that did well in the past and enhance what they’ve got. With this, we might just believe in the saying: “It’s always good to learn from the experts.”

Happy selling and have a fruitful season!

Where can I buy bikini nights perfume?

March 3rd, 2013 1 comment

I have looked absolutely everywhere for Anchor Blue’s "Bikini Nights" perfume. I know it was discontinued quite a while ago, but I’ve looked everywhere trying to find it. Ebay, overstock, amazon, and every other online site within the first 50 pages of google search. Has anyone seen it for sale on any website, or know of a perfume really really similar?

Hi There,

Making a good smelling perfume is as much a matter of technique as it is art. Combining the various ingredients drop by drop using a complex formula can be daunting for the beginner or hobbyist. The slightest change in the formula can drastically alter the smell of the perfume, creating a foul smelling concoction in an instant.

Then again, the slightest change can also create a sweet smelling alternative scent. For the beginner, however, there’s a simple recipe to learn the basics of perfume making known as Orient Nights that’s quick to mix and presents a light, refreshing scent.

My Story

I used to own a retail store, working 60+ hours a week barely make a living. By using the techniques I’ve learned, I have personally sold over £20 Million on eBay in less than 4 years. I just published a book that became an instant best seller – reaching top 10 statuses on both Amazon.com and Barnesnoble.com. I travel the word teaching people to use eBay speaking to 1000’s of people every month. Just think what it would mean to you and your family if you grabbed that same kind of success.

And yes I know those sales numbers sound beyond the realm of believability. In my book “How to Buy, Sell & Profit on eBay” I say that “the greatest eBay stories have yet to be written.” To be honest, it doesn’t matter how much I’ve sold – it matters how successful my students have become using my system.

In the past years since I’ve been teaching people the success principles to succeed on eBay, some decide to sell on eBay part time and make themselves “Lifestyle Money” – an extra £300-£500 a month…and heck. Others have reached high levels of PowerSeller – selling over £25,000 a month on eBay alone (not counting their other online businesses.

free business plans for a dating site- where can i get one?

February 19th, 2013 1 comment

Hi Crystal,

If you are going to be successful will have to do your own unique BP. Say that you were to acquire a copy of the match.com BP and decided to cut and paste to fit your idea. Even with all the cutting and pasting you would end up with a tiny match.com and that is NOT what you want. You want what you are offering to be unique in a positive way like address a demographic that no one has thought of. For instance a service for 18-wheelers. Unfortunately, this would appear to be a scam for an "escort service".

The popularity of on-line dating is DECLINING BIG TIME because of all the abuses. I actually had an on-line date with a woman that posted a picture of her younger sister and you have heard the horror stories about the "perves",

So unless your really have a unique idea I think that you are wasting your time no matter how you "spin" it with a BP.

Unless you have a couple million for search placement and advertising no one will be able to find you and that is a BIG thing think for potential investors.

Here is a little true experience for you to consider.

I put up an on-line catalog in the BEGINNING when amazon and ebay were just starting. I had also written many new product proposals and a few BPs.

I had several interested investors but they wanted so sell at a loss to generate hits and volume and sell advertising etc.

My plan was to sell at a PROFIT with none of the other foolishness that buried buy.com and the rest of them that tanked. I also refused to sell my soul to the IB sharks.

The business worked for two years with a few people working until 3-4AM because we all had a regular job during the day.

If you want to get a taste of an internet business for a little money, try selling selling some stuff on Ebay.

The BLUNT truth is that NOBODY is going to give you a few million for on-line dating no matter how you spin the BP.

I also have no idea what level of experience you have with OLDing, but if you do not have an EXCELLENT Executive team with a TON of experience with OLDing it just is NOT going to happen.

If this is a school assignment you will learn NOTHING in the process and defeat the purpose of the class.

Just as a side note, I did sales and marketing consulting, got $200 and hour and called my own hours.

Good Luck,
Jacques

Buy Wholesale Handbags to Carry a Profitable Accessory Line in Your Store Wholesale Distributors are Ready to Help You Build Your Profitable Line of C

February 11th, 2013 No comments

Wholesale handbags are proving to be a popular and profitable accessory in both online and offline retail markets. Wholesale distributors make it easy to buy wholesale handbags at a reasonable price so you can follow your customer’s fashion trends along with your store’s profitable sales trends.

Buying wholesale handbags without placing a minimum order is a profitable and easy way to increase your line of inventory for your small local boutique or your online e-commerce clothing store. Ordering large inventories of clothing accessories from wholesale distributors in an uncertain economy can have its repercussions, even when you buy with wholesale savings. But there are wholesale distributors that are well aware of the burdens of minimal inventory requirements – particularly for new retail businesses, online stores, and small family owned retail clothing shops.

Many wholesale distribution companies and manufacturers of handbags who sell handbags and designer handbags at a reasonable wholesale price request a high minimum order – which usually carries a high minimum price. However, a new breed of distributors have developed their marketing strategies around small retail businesses and online stores that wish to carry inventory or use dropshipping services. These wholesale distributors were initially driven by the strong sales success that small online businesses have had with EBay and Amazon stores. This new breed of wholesale distributors is likely to survive the economic turmoil that minimum-requiring wholesale distributors and manufacturers can’t.

According to a State of Retailing Online report by Forrester research, 72% of retailers surveyed believe that online retail stores can withstand the economic pressures that its bricks and mortar counterparts can’t. The growth rate of online sales in ecommerce markets might slow down, but online stores will be happy to know that sales are still expected to grow. Wholesale distribution companies that have welcomed the small business or online store owner that uses dropshipping services or orders only small quantities, will have the economic advantage of survival – along with the dedicated retail buyers of their wholesale distribution products, including those that buy wholesale handbags and other wholesale clothing accessories.

A buying strategy to buy wholesale handbags to add to your clothing accessory line will benefit from wholesale distributors that don’t require a minimum and also offer dropshipping. These wholesale distributors can help you capitalize on the continuously growing market for handbags, and will be a key factor in determining the profit margin increases for your retail store. The market for handbags, including designer handbags, increased steadily from 2002 to 2006, becoming a $5.6 billion dollar market. You can profit from this increasing trend in your retail store or your online e-commerce retail business when you buy handbags wholesale from wholesale distributors that build business practices around the needs of the online store or small business,

To buy wholesale handbags and to continue making a profit despite economic downturns, buy wholesale handbags from wholesale distributors that don’t require a minimum and offer dropshipping service. Buying in on a growing market with a proven product – with the help of wholesale distributors that supply you with an inventory rate you can afford – is a buying strategy that will soon have your designer handbags handing you all of the profits.

what was the first U.S. ecommerce website?

February 7th, 2013 1 comment

History of ecommerce dates back to the invention of the very old notion of "sell and buy", electricity, cables, computers, modems, and the Internet. Ecommerce became possible in 1991 when the Internet was opened to commercial use. Since that date thousands of businesses have taken up residence at web sites.

At first, the term ecommerce meant the process of execution of commercial transactions electronically with the help of the leading technologies such as Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) which gave an opportunity for users to exchange business information and do electronic transactions. The ability to use these technologies appeared in the late 1970s and allowed business companies and organizations to send commercial documentation electronically.

According to all available data, ecommerce sales continued to grow in the next few years and, by the end of 2007, ecommerce sales accounted for 3.4 percent of total sales.

Ecommerce has a great deal of advantages over "brick and mortar" stores and mail order catalogs. Consumers can easily search through a large database of products and services. They can see actual prices, build an order over several days and email it as a "wish list" hoping that someone will pay for their selected goods. Customers can compare prices with a click of the mouse and buy the selected product at best prices.

Online vendors, in their turn, also get distinct advantages. The web and its search engines provide a way to be found by customers without expensive advertising campaign. Even small online shops can reach global markets. Web technology also allows to track customer preferences and to deliver individually-tailored marketing.

History of ecommerce is unthinkable without Amazon and Ebay which were among the first Internet companies to allow electronic transactions. Thanks to their founders we now have a handsome ecommerce sector and enjoy the buying and selling advantages of the Internet. Currently there are 5 largest and most famous worldwide Internet retailers: Amazon, Dell, Staples, Office Depot and Hewlett Packard. According to statistics, the most popular categories of products sold in the World Wide Web are music, books, computers, office supplies and other consumer electronics.

Amazon.com, Inc. is one of the most famous ecommerce companies and is located in Seattle, Washington (USA). It was founded in 1994 by Jeff Bezos and was one of the first American ecommerce companies to sell products over the Internet. After the dot-com collapse Amazon lost its position as a successful business model, however, in 2003 the company made its first annual profit which was the first step to the further development.

At the outset Amazon.com was considered as an online bookstore, but in time it extended a variety of goods by adding electronics, software, DVDs, video games, music CDs, MP3s, apparel, footwear, health products, etc. The original name of the company was Cadabra.com, but shortly after it become popular in the Internet Bezos decided to rename his business "Amazon" after the world’s most voluminous river. In 1999 Jeff Bezos was entitled as the Person of the Year by Time Magazine in recognition of the company’s success. Although the company’s main headquarters is located in the USA, WA, Amazon has set up separate websites in other economically developed countries such as the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, and China. The company supports and operates retail web sites for many famous businesses, including Marks & Spencer, Lacoste, the NBA, Bebe Stores, Target, etc.

Amazon is one of the first ecommerce businesses to establish an affiliate marketing program, and nowadays the company gets about 40% of its sales from affiliates and third party sellers who list and sell goods on the web site. In 2008 Amazon penetrated into the cinema and is currently sponsoring the film "The Stolen Child" with 20th Century Fox.

One more company which has contributed much to the process of ecommerce development is Dell Inc., an American company located in Texas, which stands third in computer sales within the industry behind Hewlett-Packard and Acer.

Launched in 1994 as a static page, Dell.com has made rapid strides, and by the end of 1997 was the first company to record a million dollars in online sales. The company’s unique strategy of selling goods over the World Wide Web with no retail outlets and no middlemen has been admired by a lot of customers and imitated by a great number of ecommerce businesses. The key factor of Dell’s success is that Dell.com enables customers to choose and to control, i.e. visitors can browse the site and assemble PCs piece by piece choosing each single component based on their budget and requirements. According to statistics, approximately half of the company’s profit comes from the web site.

Going from selling on EBAY to Yahoo online business good idea? I dunno can you help?

February 5th, 2013 2 comments

I currently sell on ebay but want to expand to start selling on Yahoo small business? Is this a good idea? What is better ebay or yahoo for selling stuff? Would people look more on yahoo or ebay for buying stuff they need? What would you do if you were me?

Depends on what you sell.

Ebay is for bargains. Ebay is good for Selling cheap low price products.

Yahoo is more for high end products. Similar with Amazon.

You can find high end products for drop shipping at :

They don’t allow you to sell certain products at Ebay

How much money can you make selling on ebay?

January 26th, 2013 3 comments

What potential is there for opening an ebay store?
If you have a store, is it your main source of income?
What are the most popular products sold on ebay?

Since eBay and Paypal both charge fees, I truly believe you have to find a niche product and specialize in that category. I chose wrestling shirts and decided to focus on having the biggest selection at competitive prices. There will ALWAYS be people that will try to sell it for less than you will, that is why you cannot focus on price alone.

I make my living by selling online but my 2 brothers use it as a second income. One sells Superhero costumes and the other sells foot insoles. Pick something you think would be fun or interesting.

Also, I don’t think you need to sell ONLY on eBay. Multichannel selling is the smartest thing to do now. Look at selling on other sites like Amazon.com and starting your own web site. eBay is a great place to start though. That is what I did.

I have included a bunch of links to get you started, including some of eBay hottest selling items and training materials.

I want to set up my own online business – but the only problem is i need to find a good wholesaler?

January 21st, 2013 4 comments

Hey!

I’ve set up my own online business – and i want to sell alot of different things like dvd’s – clothes – pet stuff – sports equipment – the works.

But i cant find a good cheap wholesaler anywhere.

Does anyone know were i can find one on the internet? – i was thinking a Chinese one as they are cheaper.

Can anyone help?

First of all, you need to do an in depth market research. What’s your target market? You can’t just say, I want to sell a lot of different things.

Yes, everybody is buying DVD’s, but do you know what your target market is buying and can you compete with the big companies? Do you have the capital to promote your online store?

What’s the age of your target market? Are they female or male? Where do they live? Do they use internet a lot?
What’s the hobby of your target market?

Know your target market first. Most common mistake of every starting online business is: "my target market is everybody" Narrow down your target market. Find a niche market.

Starting an online business looks easy, because you don’t need to invest that much money. Just build a website and launch it. Don’t think you are done, once your website is launched. Your business hasn’t started yet.

How do you get people come to you website? How to increase your traffic? If they have found your website, ask yourself: why would they buy from you? Because it’s cheaper? NO. Never compete with the price. Better provide your customer with unique quality products or excellent customer service.

You can start online store in different ways:

1. Ebay store (low price image)
2. Amazon
3. Yahoo store
4. Build your own online store
5. Combine 1,2,3,4 to get maximum visitors

If you are going to build your own website, you need to do the following internet marketing techniques:

A. Find the most popular keywords your target market is searching for in Google & Yahoo
B. Optimization those Keywords with SEO (Search Engine Optimzation
C. Bid for those keywords at Google Adwords (Pay Per Click)
D. Write a Good sales copy about your products

and more….

Most online business use a drop shipping company so they can focus on the online marketing and customer service.
