How do I go about opening an online bookstore and make money with it?

December 10th, 2012 1 comment

If anyone can help me with this, I would appreciate it. Thank you.

Hi there,

It’s quite easy to set up the store it’s self, you just need to design the website around some shopping cart software so that people can purchase online. If you didn’t want to do this yourself you could outsource it and get someone at Elance to do it for you.

The hard part is then getting traffic to it. The best way we found with our online store was that we started by selling on ebay and building up a name for ourselves on there while we slowly built up the traffic and sales to the website shop. I’d also highly recommend using Google adwords to drive specific traffic there. Adwords works really well but does also take some time to perfect and maintain.

We actually now use some software that holds a database and we just put the description and photo’s in once and then it lists it both on eBay and the website.

Just remember to build it up can be a slow process so don’t get dishearted if the sales come slowly at first, just keep working hard and you’ll get there.

Also if your spending alot of time online you might want to look at a "pay to surf" site like AGLOCO that will give you some extra income for being online.

I hope this helps you out.

Cheers, ToNy!

P.S. you might also want to do some clever off line marketing for the site….. my first idea was giving away free bookmarks with the site name and details on at the library’s.

P.P.S if you want to stand out from the competition i’d recommend you get super fast shipping…. there’s nothing better than ordering online 1 day and getting it 1 or 2 days later. I always buy again from those sites.

P.P.P.S You will also need to set yourself apart from the competition like amazon and have a point of difference that you can market. Maybe you should look at setting up smaller niche book stores. e.g. 1 site for cook books, 1 site for gardening books
This way they are normally better to optimize in the search engines like Google and easier to start up because your not trying to do everything to start with. You could also offer a range of E-Books on there to download for a certain price.

How To Create Winning eBay Auction Titles

May 16th, 2012 No comments

It’s probably fair to say that one of the key reasons why many auctions end unsuccessfully on eBay is because people have got their auction title WRONG.

With the eBay marketplace becoming ever more over-crowded, it’s now increasingly more important to create auction titles that work. You really do need to stand out from your rival eBay sellers.

So what does an auction title need to do?

It’s most important job is to get people to click onto your auction. You can have the most amazing bargain in the world, or an absolutely fantastic and compelling advert, but if people never get that far then you’ll never make sales. The first step in the buying process is for people to click onto your auctions.

So how do I create a “winning” title?

The tips below are what I’ve learned as an eBay seller over the past few years. I’ve tried many different strategies and ideas, and these are the ones that work. They bring in the buyers time and time again.

“MY TOP 6 TITLE TIPS”

Create mystery.

A relatively unknown ‘secret’ is to create mystery around your auction or product. This intrigues people, and ultimately results in more people clicking onto your auction.

Let’s say you’re trying to sell an ebook called “Profits from Adwords” that contains information on how to create an income through ads on Google. Instead of using a traditional title like “Profits from Adwords eBook: the secrets to success,” trying using a title such as “Make a Great Income from Writing Three Lines of Text.” You’re not revealing exactly what the product is you’re trying to sell, rather what the product can do for the buyer. Another example may be with relaxation oils. Try a title such as “The Most RELAXING Thing I’ve Ever Tried.”

Once you think of a few catchy titles you can test them out if you happen to have multiple identical items. See which title sells the best when all other aspects of the listing are kept equal. These little experiments can drastically improve your sales conversions once you learn how to test properly.

People may feel more compelled to click on your auction with a catchy title like the ones mentioned above, but of course it does have its disadvantages, and it may not be the correct strategy for every product. After all, it’s pretty hard to create excitement and mystery around a pack of envelopes for example! It also slightly contradicts one of my rules below… but it CAN and DOES work if it’s the right product.

Use capital letters

This is a MUST in an eBay auction title – Start Each Word In Your Title With A Capital Letter Like This. It makes your title stand out from people who don’t, and can actually be more effective than using paid eBay options such as a bold title. You can also try putting certain key words in full capitals to draw attention to a unique selling point or a particularly attractive feature. If the item you’re selling is brand new then draw attention to this fact in your title.

Make sure you include as many keywords as possible

Most people find items on eBay by using the search facility, therefore it’s important that you include words in your title that people are likely to be searching for. People that write titles which are just too plain will lose out on sales. This tip seems like an obvious one, but you would be shocked at how many people don’t optimize their titles with proper keyword use!

Spell accurately

Spelling mistakes don’t show up in search results. If I search for “Playstation” and your auction title has it listed as “Playstataion” then I won’t find your item. Most people don’t make spelling mistakes purposely, that’s why they’re called mistakes. If you notice that you did make a mistake after you’ve already listed your item you may still be able to go back and correct it if you do so prior to any bids being placed. One misspelled keyword can ruin all your hard work!

Be descriptive

If you’re selling a new item, make sure you point that out in your title. If your item is in excellent condition, again make sure you say so. Try to be creative as well, look at your auction title as a buyer would.

Example, instead of saying “Pair Of Computer Speakers Used Condition Work Great”… try “Pair Of Computer Speakers w/ Manual Included Like New.”

Finally…

Use paid options sparingly. eBay offers all kinds of options that are designed to increase clicks on your auctions, such as Bold and Highlight, but I’ve usually found that these don’t have a large enough impact on auction visitor numbers to justify the cost. It may well depend on what you’re selling, but I firmly believe that good wording is much more important. You can’t always buy success on eBay.

Remember:

1.) Create mystery and excitement
2.) Use capital letters
3.) Include keywords
4.) Spell accurately
5.) Be descriptive
6.) Use paid options sparingly

Entrepreneurs Can Reach Record Income Levels Using New eBook on Adsense and Adword Advertising Techniques

May 3rd, 2012 No comments

The “Rich Jerk” has created quite a stir on the Internet about
his new ebook revealing secrets on how to use use Google Adwords
and Adsense for big profits. He has recently sold a website on
eBay for $390,000 that had a $900,000 annual return. It only
took him nine months to reach that sky-rocketing figure.

The Rich Jerk’s real name is Kelly Summer. He often likes to
refer to himself as “The Rich Jerk” for his attention grabbing
and rude awakening marketing techniques. He has recently grabbed
notoriety amongst some of the leading marketing experts such as
Lance Groom, Jeff Mills, Dean Marino, Britt Phillips, and Karl
Payne. Some people are saying that this revealing ebook has
opened many doors for new and experienced marketers to make a
lot of online money.

The Rich Jerk has been able to earn over $13 million in the past
six years with clickbank and Paypal using these exact same
techniques he now teaches. Some critics say that The Rich Jerk
has revealed too much information and that could shrink their
pocket books by the competition of new marketing arrivals.

This book is also not for the faint of heart. It contains some
marketing tactics that are considered “grey hat” and “black
hat.” It also assumes readers are professional enough to
understand investing in their business, in the form of
advertising. Not every tactic is grey hat, black hat, or costs
money though – there’s a nice mix of many different tactics and
approaches. The book is a “no fluff” and “no filler” type ebook
that gets right to the point and shows you exactly how this guy
is making tons of cash.

The Rich Jerk is a legitimate online player. People are also
stating that they just couldn’t resist The Rich Jerk and what he
had to say in his brand new ebook. Ninety-nine percent of the
reviews online have stated, “don’t worry at all about feeling
like you got duped, because The Rich Jerk is not such a jerk
after all and his book was downright Awesome!” Yes he does have
an abrasive advertising style, but what the Jerk does do is make
a lot of money, and is now willing to teach other people how to
do the same.

In the first chapter, entitled “Creating an Affiliate Website
that Sells Like Crazy”, he covers building affiliate websites to
earn commissions from the sales of other people’s products. He
starts by listing 13 affiliate sites and ranks them as “must
join,” “maybe join,” and “join if you are bored.” Once you’ve
selected a product to sell, he goes through six specific writing
strategies to use on your affiliate site to hook the reader and
get them to click through on your affiliate link. He then gives
you a complete sample “sales letter” (it’s more like an article)
with all of his strategies at work.

The third section in chapter one discusses offering rebates to
your customers, but it’s not just the same old “buy from me and
I’ll give you part of my affiliate fee back.” The Rich Jerk
delves into specific ways to do refunds that will increase your
bottom line as opposed to simply offering a rebate.

In the final section of chapter one, The Rich Jerk writes about
setting up pay-per-lead sites, where you get paid $10 or so for
each person who provides you with his or her information (which
you then pass on to a company which pays you for the lead). This
is a technique that has not been explored in-depth much by any
of the mainstream Internet marketing channels.

So why is “The Rich Jerk” much better than you? The answer to
this question lies within his newly released ebook.
