Question on ebay selling?

January 31st, 2012 Leave a comment Go to comments

So I posted something to sell with a "buy it now" price as well.
One bid was placed on the item, so the buy it now offer is negated right? (Correct me if I’m wrong b/c its my first time ever on ebay).
So, I got a message from someone willing to buy the item immediately at a really good price.

Can I delete my post so that I can sell it to him? Or do I tell him that he has to bid? I really want to sell it to him bc he’s willing to make the transaction right away.

If so, how do I delete a post?

It’s against the policy to end an item to sell off ebay!

When someone bids on an item, it is still open for "buy it now" even though they placed their bid. If someone clicks on "buy it now" and does it, then all the bids are for nothing, since it will go to the person willing to buy it now.

As for your second question, I don’t believe there is a way to end the auction early at the price he posed to you. He doesn’t want to wait until the auction’s over?

When you have an item for sale with both an auction price and buy-it-now price and someone places a regular auction bid, the buy-it-now feature no longer works. That private message you got sounds really sketchy, and it’s in violation of eBay’s terms of service. Tell the person that if he wants the item, he’ll have to place a bid.
