ebay store vs. Amazon store for selling jewelry?
I opened up an eBay store last summer, selling handmade jewelry, keychains and other little knick knacks. Unfortunately, sales have been very slow, the fees are piling up, and eBay as a whole seems to introduce or remove a new feature every few months that tips the balance of power further and further towards the buyers.
Would selling my products in an Amazon store be more ideal? What are some of the advantages and disadvantages of running an eBay store vs. an Amazon store?
looked at the folksy site.. quite good. also have you tried ‘oztion.com.au’ its an australian auction site very similar to ebay. it looks good too.. good luck
Here’s a website I know a few of my friends use which is quite successful, alternative to both. I don’t really know anyone that would turn to Amazon for jewelry, mainly I think most people would turn to ebay, but here is the Folksy site which I feel is quite popular, unfortunately it’s trial and error and with the current economy, times are hard for sellers.

I am currently using both Ebay and Amazon to sell my textbooks and they both have advantages and disadvantages. An advantage of Amazon is that I put a textbook on their and someone purchased it 2 hours later. This same sale would have taken 7 days on Ebay and I may have not made as much money. As for jewelry I would think Ebay would be a better place to buy that sort of thing. I would say try using both Amazon and Ebay for a while and see if you end up making more money on one than the other. If they both work out, keeping using both and you get to sell to the Amazon crowd and the Ebay crowd which combined, is a pretty huge amount of people. I will say that Amazon seems to charge more money so far, but the plus side is you don’t get charged for listing, only for when you make the sale. Good luck and hope this helps!
