Ebay Sellers- Do you find your sales very slow at the moment?

Are people actually buying things?

Thanks.

Credit crunch. People are at last realising not to buy what then dont need.

eBay has become a Sellers market .. it’s got so many idiots bidding up the price that half the time I don’t even bother to check ebay any more.

Over the last year or so, eBay has been forcing out the casual seller and encouraging the the ‘Buy It Now’ mega-stores .. and, after taking into account postage, prices are often higher than the ‘discount’ high street shops ..

Even so, I expect there are still a few bidders, but I bet they are bidding on Auctions rather than going for the ‘buy-it-nows’ …

depends on the demand and supply what what ever you are selling if demand is high and supply is high its selling steadily if demand is high and supply is low then its gunna sell fast and if supply is high and demand is low then you aren’t going to sell jack squat. Also it depends on money too if the buyer is poor (most buyers are form the united states) then they wouldn’t buy anything especially in the economic crisis that the US is in.

Yes, consumer spending is down. I think that I will have to offer international shipping or something as remember China has more U.S. dollars that the U.S. does (in theory) so i may may offer to Hong Kong or places that have a reasonable chance of getting there. The issue becomes much more complicated and eBay feels like many shops to me these days. I wish that I could pay the fees before listing an item as then I have more incentive to make sure that it performs well.

People are buying but prices are down – probably because less people are buying over the holiday period due to having more on their plate than surfing ebay – out at the sales, parties etc and spending less time on line. Good for the buyer who gets something for less than he expected, not so good for the sellers. Does not affect me as i never use open auction format anyway, any item of mine goes up on ‘Buy it now’ only. (which is why i always make a profit. lol)

My sales have been pretty dead for January, but 95% of my listings are buy it now. Usually Spring time is good for me… but right now I want to pull my hair out!! Hopefully it gets better!
