Tips for selling second hand items on ebay?
I have a few items I plan on selling on ebay, does anyone have any tips to increase sales price? Thanks.
Look for the items your selling in eBay’s completed auctions.
Compare the ones that did well with the ones that didn’t.
What was the starting bid price?
What was the length (how many days) of the auction?
What time did the auction end?
Auctions that do the best close Sunday between 6 -8pm
The worst day’s for an auction to close are Friday and Saturday.
You’d have to be a half of bubble off plumb to close an auction on a Saturday afternoon — when everyone’s at the beech. But, people do it, so this a good time to buy.

It really depends on what kind of items you plan to sell. In general, if it’s hot items where you see a lot of close deals with good price, it’s better to do auction style as the fee is in general lower and you get a lot of exposure if you have a low start bid price.
But if it’s an item where it doesn’t sell too fast, it’s better to do buy-it-now format. Also, you can have the Make an Offer option turn on. Having it list as FREE shipping also helps, specially now that Ebay accounts for the final value fee with the shipping cost also.
Also, I would watch the time when you end the item. that also depends on what you are trying to sell.
Do some research. Go to eBay, search on the comparable items, and look at the "Completed Listing" (one of the links on the left hand side) and see what kind of price they end up, and how people are selling them. Have fun!
