How do i set the difference amount on ebay?

November 28th, 2012 Leave a comment Go to comments

I put an item for sale on ebay with a starting bid of 99 cents. The first person bid 99 cents then the second bid for $1.04. That is only 5 cents more! How do I set it to be more than 5 cents?

If you want higher bid increments then start auction at higher price based on the following bid increment scale:

Current Price & Bid Increment
$ 0.01 – $ 0.99………….$ 0.05
$ 1.00 – $ 4.99………….$ 0.25
$ 5.00 – $ 24.99………..$ 0.50
$ 25.00 – $ 99.99………$ 1.00
$ 100.00 – $ 249.99…..$ 2.50
$ 250.00 – $ 499.99…..$ 5.00
$ 500.00 – $ 999.99…..$ 10.00
$ 1000.00 – $ 2499.99.$ 25.00
$ 2500.00 – $ 4999.99.$ 50.00
$ 5000.00 and up……..$ 100.00

Tip: Starting your auction at $1 dollar instead of 99 cents improves starting bid increment from 05. Cents to .25 cents per bid.

    This is done by eBay. You have no control over it. If more bidders push the price up, the increment will increase as well.

    Starting at 99cents can mean you sell it at 99cents. I’ve been lucky to get even one bidder on my items.
