…perhaps websites where I can find french language books…

Thanks

This is a difficult question to answer because there are no official statistics and no newspaper publishes the amount of book sales like the Sunday Times does. One can only go by the sales achieved by the most well known chains of booksellers. Also there is an appetite in France for books originally written in English then translated into French, so at the moment Harry Potter is a firm favourite and Treasure Island is the favourite of all times.
However buying books on the net is easy. You can even look on the French Ebay and I am giving you the French Amazon website address below. You could also go to your local library, if you have one, where often one can make amazing discoveries, and get some lent to you free of charge. You can also find some French books in some English bookstores such as Waterstones and in secondhand bookshops, or on the net from the English sites of Amazon or Greenmetropolis. I buy a lot of my French books, and so do my students, from the foreign section of Oxfam bookshops where they sell secondhand books at a very reasonable price. These have been donated by people like myself who have bought books in France and, when they have finished reading them, give them to this organisation to raise money for famine relief. If one kept all the books one reads there would be no room left to live in….
There are a few websites that may be of use to you:

http://www.livrenpoche.com/livres/livres-occasion-Jeunesse/1038
http://livre.fnac.com/s19/Jeunesse
http://www.readme.cc/fr/livres-lecteurs/les-livres-les-plus-populaires/

Good Luck!

PS. One of the most read books in French because, although seemingly written for children, it actually appeals more to adolecents and adults is "Le Petit Prince" by Saint Exupéry. It is not too difficult to read and is immenesely appealing. You can read it directly on the net. Here is the reference:

Well, this is not representative of all the people’s cultural interests but this famous website just gives a trend:

FNAC is the most famous book shop in France.

Ok. So I am having this same problem. What I did, was I just went to Amazon.com and then made it the french one, then you find the youth books section, and you can choose whichever ones you want, and they are in french!
