Pioneer QX-8000A Operation Quadraphonic 4 Channel

Here’s an old Pioneer four channel receiver I have. I usually do this videos when I get close to selling one. This is the Model QX-8000A, it’s not the top of the line but it works like new and looks almost as good, it should, I just spent over $200 to have it gone through. I have something like 7 quad receivers that I would rotate through but I decided to get that number down to 2 or 3. I decided that before I did anything I would have them all refreshed/repaired as needed, I got this back a few weeks ago and have been using it ever since and it sounds/works FANTASTIC! The video is for reference for me if I sell it but also for anyone else that may want to see one in operation. I had to edit it down from 17 minutes to what you see.

Duration : 0:9:16

    Sorry for the delay …
Sorry for the delay, you may be referring to the PRE/MAIN switch that says “Separated/Inter-Coupled”. If that’s the one your talking about it’s for the AMP & PREAMP, if it’s set to SEPARATED then it allows them to run independent of each other, most home users just keep them inter-coupled.

    I have the exact …
I have the exact same receiver. On the rear near the top there is a little black switch that can slide left to right, could you tell me what that is for. My unit needs a restore, not longer has output on all four. Also I cannot get the lower bank of rear jacks to work with lower channels but upper jacks work with upper channel output. You are excused on the belch. lol. thanks.

Try ebay and use “pioneer speaker plug” they are small blocks that plug into the speaker holes and then the speaker wires hook into the plugs. I tried to add picture but YT won’t let me add web links it looks like.

    Do you have …
Do you have knowledge of where I could pickup Speaker Connecting wires with the correct connector for this model? I purchased one of these today but it had no speakers nor connecting speaker wires. Thanks for any help. Please post a picture on UTube of the back of your receiver with the proper speaker connectors if you will. Thanks.
