If my bid doesn’t reach what I want on eBay, can I decline?
I made a new eBay sale, Buy Now is at $300, bidding is starting at $10, what if it only gets up to $50 and I want at least $100, can I choose to keep my item?
Strange previous response as regards the "insider tip". The practice of having a "friend" FALSELY BID IN ORDER TO DRIVE UP THE PRICE has been around as long as auctions. It’s called shill bidding and is a violation of EBay policies that can get you suspended from selling on the site. It’s also a FELONY in many states. Having recently gotten EBay to suspend a top-rated power seller for doing exactly this, they do take it seriously.
You can place a reserve on your item, which you may (but don’t have to) disclose to any bidder. Some sellers put their reserve price directly in the listing. If bidding has already started, you are stuck. Withdrawing an item that has bids already on it is another violation of policy. Some sellers do say they have the item listed locally (craigslist, etc.) and reserve the right to end auction if item sells locally. Feedback is everything regarding Ebay, when in doubt call Ebay and ASK.
Hey
Well you can still choose to keep the item, but it’s not nice to do so 🙂 Fix the minimum to 100$ if you want at least 100 for it.
