Ebay question regarding purchase?
I am a customer on ebay and I purchased some expired vitamins. The date that these vitamins expired were on 4/09 and it clearly was stated on the listing. I did not see this on the listing and was clearly a mistake on my behalf. My question is are you allowed to sell vitamins especially that are expired on ebay? What is ebays policy? In my honest opinion, I truly believe that this should not be allowed, especially that its something that put in your body.
"Restricted – these healthcare items are allowed as long as you comply with all laws and regulations surrounding the sale and/or shipment of the item… The item can be delivered to the buyer before the expiration date."
It is somewhat vague, but it sounds like it is probably against eBay policies to sell expired vitamins. Not only that, you can check local and federal law… it is probably unlawful to sell expired anything.
You could try to use this knowledge to contact the seller for a return and refund. If they decline, report them, but you will probably not get your money back at this point, in this situation.
If he listed it as such, it is your mistake, ask the seller to take them back. You may also leave negative feedback if they will not work with you. Good Luck

Yes, they broke policy, but getting your money back will be difficult–the seller will claim they did nothing wrong and that they will only refund if you prove you sent the item back to them.

you should only buy vitamins from your pharmacist anyway. he could very easily just open up the bottle or get a hypodermic needle and inject something into the bottle that could make you very sick just for the fun of it.

I actually think the vitamins would be fine if they just expired and you use them right away. As far as ebay policy- I’m not sure, but if the auction was not taken down by ebay and it clearly stated the expiration date- sorry to say, but I think it’s your loss.
