What can i sell on eBay to supplement my income?

November 30th, 2012 5 comments

I currently work 40 hours/week and make good money, but I am saving to buy a house and wanted to put my weekends to use. I would prefer to work from home on the weekends, so I was thinking about buying and reselling on eBay. I have sold numerous things on eBay, but I would like to open an eBay store. What items are good to sell for a quick profit??
Any other work at home suggestions are appreciated.

There are a few ways to make decent money off eBay.

One simple way is to check garage sales every week and look for items dirt cheap that you can sell for more on eBay.

You could also drop ship for manufacturers, but there is more risk involved in that.

When comes to buy cars, what site gives more credible prices, Ebay or Auto trader?

November 30th, 2012 9 comments

The prices on auto trader are not usually realistic

I would classify myself as a specialist who SCRUTINEERS in depth information on motor vehicles. I specialise in exporting all kinds of vehicle from the USA to the UK. As part of my DAILY routine I spend HOURS analysing EBAY, AUTO TRADER, EXCHANGE and MART along with CAR and CLASSIC.
No matter whether I research EBAY, AUTO TRADER, EXCHANGE and MART or CAR and CLASSIC, I use two main guidelines to ALL vehicle prices in the UK (as this is where I export all my vehicles and motorcycles to from the USA), are GLASS’S Used Car Prices, Vehicle Valuations and also Motor Cycle Prices and also PARKERS Car Price Guide.

GLASS’S has an unbeatable reputation and has been in publication since 1933 and statistics have proved conclusively that over 90% of ALL car dealers and private buyers and seller alike use GLASS’S Guide.

PARKERS on the other hand has only been in publication since 1997, and I personally consider that their publication has a little more limitations than GLASS’S GUIDE.
Let us compare PARKERS against GLASS’S:

PARKERS:
* Independent reviews for 28,000 cars
* Car prices for every model since 1989
* New and used cars for sale
* Van reviews and bike prices

NOW LOOK AT GLASS’S:
Thousands more cars are sold each day using
Glass’s valuations as opposed to PARKERS.

The Editors of GLASS’S have years more experience and you can tap into their knowledge and get an accurate valuation for your part-exchange or your next used car within minutes!

Once you have obtained your used car valuation from the site,

Homepage

make sure to have a look at their editorial content – from road tests of cars and video content to blogs, from their Editors (the guys who calculate the valuations) and their latest feature ‘Ask the Editor’ where John Glynn our Consumer Values Editor answers questions submitted by users who have bought a used car valuation and have raised an appropriate query. This service is quite simply amazing.

So my best serious advice and counsel after having purchased and sold many cars over the years is, LOOK AT EBAY AND AUTO TRADER BY ALL MEANS, but your conclusions should be drawn from comparing whatever vehicle, from the comprehensive and unbiased data published by GLASS’S GUIDE and PARKERS.

I never buy or sell ANY VEHICLE from anywhere without using both of these publications.

Trust this is helpful to you.
If there is any way in which I can help you further, please do not hesitate to contact me.

How can I sell more from my web site?

November 30th, 2012 7 comments

I’ve had this site for a while now. I’ve been selling my stuff to family and friends and sometimes word of mouth. Now everything is going really slow. I need the money to pay bills. I want to quit because there are no more sales. Someone please help me. I want my business to be more advertising. How can I do that?

Hi there,

You could try to increase the traffic to your website through Blogging about your particular niche along with article writing. You also may need to work on Search Engine Optimization or look at paid advertising on yahoo………. it works very well.

You could also try offering a bonus (product, e book or report or something) to customers who refer friends to your site.

you could also try selling your same products on eBay to increase your product sales and if you get well known on there and put your website in your about me page this will also increase your traffic to your main site.

At my business we started on ebay and did really well and we are currently building up the traffic and popularity of the website.

You may also want to try some Public Relations/Publicity Stunts to increase your Profile in the local community. It’s normally pretty easy to get publicity in the paper’s by donating to a worthy cause, or if you don’t have the money to donate why don’t you organize some other type of charity event to raise money this way it only takes you time to organize……..

Hopefully every time you sell a product you are getting the customers to opt into your emailing list, this way you can keep them up to date with new information about yourself or send them out special offers….. This works very well because you know they are interested in your products and they have bought of you before.

I hope this helps you out and if you want to email me your website i’d be interested in taking a look.

Cheers, ToNy!

P.S. if you are spending a bit of time online it may also be worth looking at building up a couple of other MSI’s (Multiple Sources of Income) for example affiliate sites, advertising on your site for other company’s and "Paid to Surf" sites like www.agloco.com.au

how does the refund system work on ebay?

November 30th, 2012 2 comments

I’m planning on opening an ebay shop, if there were any refunds made through debit or credit card, how can I get the money back to the customer, same with paypal. Should I go on internet banking and refund the money back from that or is it more complicated than that?

For 60 days, Paypal has a refund button on each transaction. You click on it and indicate how much money should go back to the buyer and Paypal reverses that amount–including the reveral of the fees they charged you in the first place.

If you make a mistake, you should pay shipping both ways.
If they made a mistake, they pay for shipping.

BTW, don’t bother with a "shop" unless you have a 1000 items to list. While the listing fees go down (sort of, eBay has lots of sales), you pay extra for Final Value Fees *and* disappear from most searches. Store inventory only shows up on very narrow searches when less than 20 items come back from non-store listings.

The eBay stores that success are book sellers, stamps, china, crystal and silver. Items where people looking for the item type in the exact search description.

Can you ask for selling allowance again on eBay?

November 30th, 2012 2 comments

I have just recieved a selling allowance of 100 items per month, i know that a selling allowance of 100 items per month on ebay is good but for the items i am selling i need to sell a little more than 100 items per month as i am selling beads. So my question is, can you ask for selling allowance again on eBay?

Thanks. (I will choose the best answer as soon as yahoo answers will let me)

Yes, you can. You can phone them and tell them your plans and they will revise it gradually upwards once every month if you keep asking, and keep getting positive feedback from your buyers.

Log on to your selling account. Go to Customer Support (top right of Ebay Home Page) and choose the Contact eBay tab. Choose Selling, then Listing Items For Sale. Click on the words Call Us at the right of the screen. That will give you the phone number, 0800 358 3229, but it will also give you a passcode which you can use in the next 15 minutes, which generally speeds things up. You can just phone that number if you prefer, but it’s a bit slower. once you get through, tell them you want to increase your selling allowance and explain why. The office hours are Mon – Fri 8.00AM – 10.00PM
Sat & Sun 9.00AM – 6.00PM.

Will selling car on eBay bring the highest price?

November 30th, 2012 4 comments

I put an ad on Craigslist and got an offer for $1900. I declined.

I went to Carmax and they offered $2400. I have a week to decide.

If I sell my car on eBay will I get more? I am hoping to get over $3000 for my 2002 Honda Passport LX with 170k miles.

Yes and no.

Since you set the "reserve" price on eBay (the lowest price you will accept before the auction can be "won"), then you determine what the selling price is before the auction even starts. If the bidding does not reach the reserve price, then you don’t sell it… plain and simple. If the reserve price is met, then it’s sold when the auction ends.

So, if you set the reserve at $3000, and the bidding never reaches that amount, you keep it and try again or choose an alternate method of sale.

What should i sell on ebay? Is there a free coaching service that will give me the goods?

November 30th, 2012 9 comments

all i need to know are the results of what is selling on ebay. Most of the coaching services that provide this information cost money.

Honestly…

I use a wholesaler known as salehoo, and to be honest, they’re got pretty damn good deals.

If you want to look at their site and see some of the products, you can read more about them and sign up here:

http://www.squidoo.com/Money-Making-On-Ebay-

For example:

I can buy a Sony Ericsson W910 cell phone for $282.95, and RE-sell it on ebay for $415 or so (give or take)..that’s about $130 PROFIT from one single item.

Um, off the top of my head, some OTHER things you can on there for wholesale are Gucci Sunglasses, Cell phones, Yes London Jeans, PS3’s, psps and a HECK of alot more!

Anyways, I won’t bore you with the fine details here, I talk about that, and give a link to my supplier in my article here:

Check it out, let me know what you think, and good luck! 🙂

What time should I put an auction for ebay up if I want to get the most people?

November 30th, 2012 4 comments

I want to put an auction to end when the most people (globally) are on.

So what time is the best so I can cover the most countries?

From Powerseller status experience, end the auction on a Sunday night between 7-9 pm
