What would I need to start a "car part sales business" ?

January 18th, 2013 1 comment

Hello everyone I live in Ontario Canada and I wanted to get something started with my life and I was thinking about starting a business selling car parts. I was thinking about getting them from japan for a cheap price and selling them here for a low price, this is all completely new to me and I just got the idea from my father and was wondering if I would need to have existing contacts in japan or if u can gain them through the internet or from another source.

Another question would be about the financial aspect of this. I have bad credit right now and close to bankrupct so it would not be possible for me to get a bank loan, what other options do I have? Also how much would i need aproximatly to start a new business like this one. Not a huge shop just small enough to run something.
If anyone can help me out with tips, info, web sites, or anything else would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again

Will selling car on eBay bring the highest price?

November 30th, 2012 4 comments

I put an ad on Craigslist and got an offer for $1900. I declined.

I went to Carmax and they offered $2400. I have a week to decide.

If I sell my car on eBay will I get more? I am hoping to get over $3000 for my 2002 Honda Passport LX with 170k miles.

Yes and no.

Since you set the "reserve" price on eBay (the lowest price you will accept before the auction can be "won"), then you determine what the selling price is before the auction even starts. If the bidding does not reach the reserve price, then you don’t sell it… plain and simple. If the reserve price is met, then it’s sold when the auction ends.

So, if you set the reserve at $3000, and the bidding never reaches that amount, you keep it and try again or choose an alternate method of sale.

Any tips on selling a car on ebay please!?

I am considering putting my car on ebay as I am not having much luck with the autotrader in the current climate, but have never done it before!
Would you recommend it and what tips/secrets are there to get me a sale? The car is worth around £9000 if that’s any help.
Cheers.

I recently listed my brothers car on ebay for him, what it did for was provide a "shop window" whereby we got over 400 views of the car’s listing and a third more cash than the reserve! As the car was listed locally, practically everyone wanted to pay cash to end the auction which was how the car eventually sold.

Make sure you list all details about the car (except Reg No), honestly, as the person looking at your car will probably know any faults etc. to look for. If the car is good then it will sell itself.

Provide good pictures

Put a reserve on it, but DON’T disclose it no matter how much bidders hassle you.

Think twice about listing your phone number as no end of idiots will call simply asking for the same info that’s in the listing! and give you the line "I’ve got cash in my pocket & can be there tonight for £xx which is much lower than the actual book value…mostly traders.

Put in a disclaimer at the end of your listing stating that "if your reserve or more is met locally then you have the right to end the auction" to cover yourself if you need to cancel the auction early.

The one major downside is the fees, which are around 9% upon completion of sale.

We listed the car for 7 days, it sold on day 6 for cash outside of ebay, so only cost £12 fees for a national ad 🙂

Get the Most for Your Used Vehicle by Selling it Through Capital Auto Auction

When you’re ready to sell your car, truck, motorcycle or boat, how will you get it before potential buyers? Most people will pay hundreds of dollars to list their car, truck, motorcycle or boat in their daily or local newspapers. There are even some magazines that specialize in selling used vehicles. For a fee, you can list your car, truck, motorcycle, boat or any vehicle in their pages. You may get the exposure you’re looking for, but you will  have to answer countless phone calls. You’ll most likely spend hours giving out your address and directions to your home to total strangers. Hopefully, they’ll show up when they say they will but it’s pretty common for some of these ‘interested’ customers to fall by the wayside.

You could save your advertising dollars and spend your time going to countless dealers trying to trade-in your car, truck, motorcycle or boat. Most people simply go the route of a trade-in because it saves them time and effort. But they may not be getting as much as they could for their car, truck, motorcycle or boat.

If you’re looking to get the full value of your car, truck, motorcycle or boat, avoid losing money at trade-in by listing your car, truck, motorcycle or boat with  CapitalAutoAuction .  When you list your car, truck, motorcycle or boat with Capital Auto Auction hundreds of people will see it.  The professional staff at Capital Auto Auction know how to show off your used car, truck, motorcycle or boat at its best.

You will be getting the full value of your car, truck, motorcycle or boat. And  think of how much safer selling your car, truck, motorcycle or boat through Capital Auto Auction is.  You can avoid having strangers coming to your home.

To get started selling your car, truck, motorcycle or boat through Capital Auto Auction, you can visit our website at www.capitalautoauction.com.  In order to get started the title to your car, truck, motorcycle or boat must be free of liens and in your name.  Capital Auto Auction takes consignments on a first come first serve basis. There are a limited number of consignments taken each week so you will need to fill out  the short questionnaire at our website. You will be asked which auction location site you wish to sell your car at.  You will also have to supply us with your car, truck, motorcycle or boat’s vehicle year, make and model as well as mileage. You can then list your asking price.

When you sell through Capital Auto auction we do all the advertising and take all the phone calls.  We know how to  show off your car , truck, motorcycle or boat to get you the full value. We take the worry out of selling your car, truck, motorcycle or boat because if there is ever a problem we do everything possible to make sure both the seller and buyer are satisfied.

Information Regarding Tips Selling Cars Ebay

December 28th, 2011 No comments

Selling a car on Ebay works much the same as selling any item, with the addition of a few extra steps to protect yourself and your buyer. Your first order of business, if you have not done so already, is to register an account with Ebay.

With that out of the way, you will need to gather together all relevant information about your vehicle. In addition to your title / registration, try and gather maintenance and repair receipts as well. Now is also a good time to begin taking photos. As a general rule, the more the better. Take photos of all four sides of the vehicle, close ups of any body damage, the engine compartment, and the interior. Include a photo of the odometer reading. Photos should be well focused and free of any distractions that draw your viewers attention away from the car. Good results can often be obtained on a slightly overcast day in an empty parking lot.

Information Regarding Selling On Craigslist

If you are new to selling a used car on Craigslist, you may be unsure how to proceed. Stop right now. Whatever you do, don’t mosey on over to Craigslist and post “I have a red truck for sale.” This will get you nowhere and it does nothing but waste your time and the time of everyone who reads your ad.

So what should you do when selling a car on Craigslist?
