I sell on Ebay and I used to have a store but I closed it and am now just selling in acution format. I know a little about html (building a website) and I want my own little store with my own website. I still want to sell on Ebay to get traffic and whatnot. Is it against ebay policies to link your personal website from your listings. If not.. how do I do this?

Both allow the ebay purchaser to access ‘check out’ on your site, though the advantage is they have the option to continue shopping (on your site) and combine postage with ebay items.

It comes down to how much you are prepared too pay for your traffic, as in some cases adwords may be a better option for driving traffic.

I was looking into selling my own printed clothing online, I know that ebay is a good idea (opening a shop for my own designs)- how sucessful will this endevour be or should I just stick with shop sales and cut out the hastle?
In other words do many people shop online really?

One way is to use eBay as a test market whether your products will sell. Also do etsy.com if your item qualifies. This way you can see:

– whether there’s a demand for your products
– what kind of sales copy or product description you need to write (note the kind of questions ebay users ask you)
– use ebay to practice taking good pictures of your products, in multiple angles

Once you see there seems to be a demand you can then open your own website. But it should not be an either/or situation — even if you have a website, explore as many opportunities to sell your products. Sell it on ebay, Amazon, etsy, shop sales, etc — the more venues you sell, the better

i know two ways to sale products. first is Ecommerce sites. Like i have to open an Eshop on ebay where i have pay a little to advertise my products and sell.
Secondly to make a website to sale my product and use SEO techniques to improve website rating.

Own website means you would have better control but it may take a long time to rank your site.

Other sites means you can get immediate traffic but there can be lots of restrictions.

Have an Online Garage Sale using eBay

Do you have items in your house or your garage that you would normally save for your neighbourhood summer time garage sale? Maybe toys that your children don’t play with anymore, or perhaps home decor items that you don’t really like anymore?

Maybe some sweaters that you have never worn? Why not get a head start and sell some of those items on eBay today?

Now would be a great time to do this with Christmas just around the corner. I know eBay is not a new concept, but I am sure there are still people out there that have never looked at eBay or considered the idea of using eBay as a way of cleaning out their house and generating new money for themselves.
