Making Money Online The Easy Way

obviously they are stinking rich but why offer this credit if they can just hose us down for more. they lose money by giving shipping reimbursements. Do they receive some type of tax credit for their hospitality?

The way I understand it, half.com charges the buyer a set shipping fee, and then reimburses the seller for something closer to their actual shipping costs.

For example, if you buy a book from half.com, it might cost the seller $1.50 to ship, but they will charge you $3.99 in shipping and handling charges. They reimburse the seller for the $1.50 it costs them to ship the item, but they still gain $2.50 from the sale.

I don’t think they’re "stinking rich" and I don’t think they’re "hosing" anybody for anything. I think they’re just a business who’s following good business practices and making money by doing so.

5 Years ago I was buying and selling stuff and making £500 a week PROFIT. these days You have to accept "small change" profit on the stuff you sell. I am going to sell my current stock and that is me finished with eBay. My question is….Do you think eBay has had its day.

There are so many discussions on the various PowerSeller boards on eBay that discuss this very topic.
There are a number of reasons why I believe its more difficult to make a $ on eBay now as opposed to say, 5 years ago.

Let’s consider –

New sellers who think they’ll jump on the bandwagon because they think that other people are making money in such and such a category so they’ll make heaps too! WRONG! The more sellers, the more competition, the lower the profit, the more newcomers who go broke trying to compete … That is … UNLESS the newbie seller has UNIQUE items – not the same ol’ same ol’.

Yes eBay have raised the seller’s fees and given no benefits to the sellers … that’s a HUGE reason for making less profit.

PAGE VIEWS in seller statistics clearly indicate that there are less buyers searching eBay … why? Possibly because of negative media pointing out the scammers that exist online.

Add to these issues, the influx of FOREIGN sellers ie. Thailand, China, Hong Kong etc. These guys are buying direct from the factory, selling at ridiculous starting prices, pay no import duties, income taxes etc. to the countries in which they list, therefore the sellers they are competing with for the sales, who do run their eBay businesses professionally and legally (and pay their taxes) are massively disadvantaged!

Take a look at the package on offer. I did and after a bit of a learning curve, I had a website that was making me around $160 a month with minimal effort. So minimal in fact, I left it entirely to make money month by month and ‘sales’ have declined since – due to my own neglect. Money for old rope my dad called it! I probably made $800 out of that site and you can make as many sites as you can think of eBay niches to base them on. if you look at the forum, its full of people who have managed to give up their day job to become ebay partner affiliates. Its also packed full of advice relating to other ways of making cash on the net not related to ebay. There IS a learning curve but it gets easier as you go along and these is plenty of help. Its a turnkey product in theory although you do have to add content and make it unique etc

The real goal behind making money on Ebay is to find/sell those ‘items’ that a large consumer market are always ‘buying’, regardless of the market.

To find the ‘hot items’, for a lack of better words, that are sold month-after-month, check out these two (2) Ebay references:

Here, you can find a LOT of GOOD information, such as what ‘categories’ on Ebay are hot and/or what the hot selling ‘items’ are as well.

This second resource is a MONTHLY PDF File, composed and maintained by Ebay, which will tell you what categories/items have been consistent ‘hot items’ from month to month. While the PDF file will change with each passing month, the URL above WILL NOT! So, bookmark it and continue to review it every month.

The next thing to consider is finding ‘drop-shippers’ of some of these products. The benefit to having a ‘drop-shipper’ is that when your auction is over, you send the request to the drop-shipper, they then take over the ‘customer experience’ and will handle everything from shipping the product to the customer, dealing with charge-backs and most everything else you can think of that would be common place in any type of transaction.

Another key to being highly effective/successful with Ebay Auctions is understanding all the different types of ‘auctions’ there are and how each one can help increase your sales.

Remember though, nothing is ‘easy’ when it comes to making money on ebay. If it was, then everyone would be selling on ebay, but since we know that’s not happening, you CAN profit from these techniques!

Well unless you’re 18 or older you can’t open an eBay and PayPal account legitimately. If you are under age and get caught out (which happens eventually) you’ll be permanently banned. You need to read up on all the rules for new sellers ie item numbers you can sell in a month and be aware that Paypal will hold your money for up to 21 days each sale so you’ll have to pay shipping costs out of your own pocket. Then there’s the fees eBay and PayPal charge, these total about 10% of the sale amount. So you need to make more than 10% mark up to have any profit! You have to find stuff to sell ie go to garage sales etc and buy stuff cheap to sell for more. But it’s hard work, you have to build up your business and earn buyers trust before you’ll start selling easily and eBay lets you sell more stuff each month and PayPal stops holding your money for 21 days. Yes you can make money, but you don’t make very much. My favorite site (the only one I’ve found worth while) is swag bucks. Swag bucks uses a google based seach engine that gives you a chance to win "swag bucks" when you search. But its slow because you can’t just spam searches, only the first 20 searchs you do per day have a chance of winning. you get an average of 1-5 points per day by searching. Since i search everyday anyway I use swag bucks to make a bit of extra cash. I’ve gotten a alot of amazon gift cards.

I seem not to be doing so well selling scrapbooking items on EBAY. I keep my prices below everyone elses and I sell top line products. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong or is sales down for everyone that is trying to sell on EBAY?

The key is to sell products that cannot be bought in stores. It is hard to compete with the sales in retail stores. Good luck!

I was raised in church and basically forced to go. Well after straying and reviewing all the options, I’m back. lol. So, I closed my eyes and said a little prayer and told God I was all in. I have never really stopped praying, prayed every night and while driving and stuff all through life but didn’t have faith. So since I rededicated my life, I have prayed on a few topics and just left it to the lord. Not trying to predict the outcome myself. He has came through every time. It’s making me tear up because it’s like he will control everything if I ask him. Well last night I had some stuff weighting me down about bills and money and stuff. I just told him that I knew he would take care of me and he has got me through 30 years of life so far. I said I just leave it in your hands. Show me what to do and I’ll do it. I sell stuff on ebay and craigslist and it’s been real slow, well I stopped worrying and slept peaceful and woke up and have been answering calls and emails all day. He has sent me almost $500 worth of sales in about 8 hours today. Is this for real, it seems like everyone would do it. I just want to tell people how he’s blessing me. I’ve heard people say "We are blessed" and now I feel that way. Praise God….
Yea, I may have not explained it all. I am aware that everyday can’t be a walk in the park. Just one that is not about me making money, for instance my father has not been working. Not because he can’t find a job but he got lazy for a while. After praying on it, 2 weeks later he made a bold move and went to work for a large company out of state. Lord knew it was time.

It’s just that easy…..when you give it all back.
