Possibly – our ebay sales were down 85% on last Christmas. However I also firmly beleive that ebay themselves have failed sellers by introducing their new search format in September 2008; our sales started falling dramatically from this point!

Hey! I read about all these people making money on ebay, like home business money. What are they doing and how does it work? I mean, I’ve sold a few items and such, but not as a business.
Can some one explain it to me before I sign up for anything? What exactly do you do?

hey, i got a camera i do not need for a bday present and im looking to get rid of it. its brand new and has good features.

Craigslist can be a good place, but realize that there isn’t much demand for film these days so no matter what avenue you choose to sell it, it may take time to sell. I was in the same position when I went digital but I found that my film camera was more than capable and it was unlikely I’d sell it for what I thought it was worth, so I decided to keep it and shoot film when interested in the departure from convention. Maybe one day, if my son shows an interest in photography, I’ll teach him how to use it and though by then digital will have made film all but obsolete it’s still cool to learn how to capture an image on film and then how to develop that film to see how the photographs came out. To me, there was always more to photography than simply capturing the image (anyone can do that), I was always facsinated by the science.

That’s me though.

Hey folks… I have a small business selling second-hand vinyl records (mainly dance music) on eBay and now on another site called Discogs. I have been going for 3-4 months now and April was my best month, but I am still not making enough to live on.

Sales are quite slow and eBay fees and postal costs are biting. Competition is fierce and the whole process is very arduous and time-consuming. I notice big sellers are charging higher prices for the same items but I feel I have to keep prices competitive to make sales… Anbody got any thoughts? Discount for the best answer! Thanks.

I don’t buy any 2nd hand vinyl records, so wouldn’t be interest even with discount.

You may increase your business by diversifying – sell health DVDs as well – perhaps, or latest pop CDs as well.

i dont know if this is ocd but i cant help making lists and tables and doing routines.

I have a routine i go through when i get up, get dressed, go to bed and go to toilet and if i dont follow the exact same routine i have terrible feeling something bad is going to happen.

Also i cant help making lists and tables of stuff, as an example if im playing a computer game where there is statistics involved i have to make a table to collect data on my stat increases or to compare stats. Other things as well though such as my exam results, football results, even when i was going to buy something off ebay i made a table to check the sell values of past sales to see if im paying too much.
With tables its more things like i have to make a table listing all the books i own and want to buy. All the DVDs i own and want to buy. When i have downloaded music and tv shows i have them on a list with future releases.

Im quite worried by the fact i cant help myself

Over the years, my son has filled many dozens of notebooks with tables and lists of things that interest him. It’s his way of enjoying his alone time. If it bothers you when you can’t do it, or misplace it, or something like that… then there might be a problem.
