I’m basically new at Ebay and I’m not sure how to do this and that. With your help, can you tell me how to sell an item on Ebay and other information I might need.
Thank you.
It is really pretty easy to follow their instructions. Best if you have a paypall account but you don’t really have to, but eBay will need some means of getting money from you, ie credit card, debit, etc. They have a 30% discount on listing fees this month. You will need to take pictures, list your item in at least 2 categories, with as many key words as you can to describe your item. Be honest about the flaws. Its best if you find a product for sale like yours from a seller with high points, and copy off their sight. Do your home work and read all the tips offered.

I would like to know how to start selling on eBay and if I need to pay any fees how do I get started can some one help me please? Thank you.
Boy, did you ask the right person! I sell on ebay all the time! First you set up an account. You have to give them either a secured email or a credit card to set it up for identification purposes. (they do not charge your card) Once you set up an ebay account you will have to set up a paypal account at paypal.com in order to accept paypal payments. Paypal payments are preferred by most ebayers since they can pay instantly and so there for get their item faster. Once you have a paypal account going and your ebay account set up all you do is click on sell an item at ebay. You can sell items without a paypal account but they will not go for as much and it will take time for the money to get to you by mail which is a drag. Also keep in mind that it does not cost anything to set up a paypal account either. Another note…when auctioning off items it is best to have them end at around 6.00 or 7.00 at night…they go for more during these hours. If you like my answer please vote for it. thanks

I want to sell on ebay- but the way I understand it you can only use the money you make as credits on paypal unless you transfer it to your bank account but I really dont want to give out my bank information and connect it to paypal – is there any other way to credit it to your credit card or something where I can use it other than just online?
Well, you can not use Paypal as an option for payment.
Use Money Orders instead.
I buy and sell on eBay, and have a PayPal account, and it is alot easier, and they are very secure. Buyers make a payment to your PayPal account and then you transfer to your bank account.
But like I said, you can always use Money Orders.
Good Luck.

I was adding a Paypal account to my Xbox account. Everytime I click "Add Paypal", i sign in but then it asks me to add a new card when on top it says "You have one active card" but it doesn’t let me use it.
This is very frustrating.
Paypal’s cards are horrible. Had a very similar problem myself.
To use the card as a credit card, you need to call the customer service line on the back of the card and ask that the card be reactivated. Then they’ll send you a letter turning you down. Then you call again and say that you got a letter saying your card can’t be activated. Then they activate it.
Oh, but your credit limit is ungodly low. Mine was $127. I spend over $3,000 a month on my Visa, have a $2,000 cash balance from ebay sales on the paypal card – and paypal gives me a $127 credit limit… Um, okay.
I’d use a different card for your Xbox account.

Well, I want to purchase a bag online from bluefly but if a bag turns out to be fake or not good, How do you return it? How do you return it and how does the company refund the money back to your credit card? Do you just go to the postal office and return it/ pack it up and return it? Does the money return back to the credit card?
Sorry, I’m15 years old, I don’t know how these stuff work! I don’t think my parents know either.
The only way the seller will refund your money is if the item is not what they advertised or it’s damaged. You cannot return it just because you don’t like it. Alot of times on Ebay the seller will mention what their refund policy is, you have to see if they will accept the item back if you aren’t 100% satisified, most ebayers don’t do that.
If they will accept it back then you just pay to ship it back to the seller and when they receive it back and you paid thru PayPal they will process a refund thru paypal and the money will be credited back to your account. Always ask questions of the seller BEFORE bidding on an item to prevent this happening in the future. It’s a real hassle when a buyer does this, it costs a seller time and money to sell and when you back out of a sale we lose money.
Read the rules of Ebay I believe you have to be 18 in order to purchase on Ebay because by bidding you are entering into a legal contract with ebay to purchase any item you bid on and if you’re under 18 you’re not old enough to enter into a contact.

do i need a credit card or any other information too? thanks. any tips would be great!
Hi, yes you do need to have an account with them in order to sell or even buy on ebay. Don’t worry it doesn’t cost anything to have the account. You do have to set up a credit card with them for purchases and decide if you want to accept your payment via paypal (which could then be transferred to your bank account; though this takes up to 4 days to do). You can also accept checks or money orders as payments but paypal is much faster.
When you do list your items for sale it’s best if you have a picture uploaded of what you are selling and that you put in the best possible description. You should also note if the item is new or used and what its condition is. Then you pick a starting price or buy it now price. If the item sells they will charge a small fee on top of what they charge to list the item. If it does not sell you can relist it and if it sells the second time they will not charge you to relist it. You also have to state how you are going to ship the item and what you are charging for shipping (must be based on weight and distance). If you do take paypal for payments they will also charge a small fee when receiving the funds. If you have any other questions feel free to email me.

I’m planning on opening an ebay shop, if there were any refunds made through debit or credit card, how can I get the money back to the customer, same with paypal. Should I go on internet banking and refund the money back from that or is it more complicated than that?
For 60 days, Paypal has a refund button on each transaction. You click on it and indicate how much money should go back to the buyer and Paypal reverses that amount–including the reveral of the fees they charged you in the first place.
If you make a mistake, you should pay shipping both ways.
If they made a mistake, they pay for shipping.
BTW, don’t bother with a "shop" unless you have a 1000 items to list. While the listing fees go down (sort of, eBay has lots of sales), you pay extra for Final Value Fees *and* disappear from most searches. Store inventory only shows up on very narrow searches when less than 20 items come back from non-store listings.
The eBay stores that success are book sellers, stamps, china, crystal and silver. Items where people looking for the item type in the exact search description.

I had an account balance of some nine dollars for sales a couple of months ago. My credit card was maxed out so the charge was declined. I looked at my account balance and there’s an additional charge of some nine dollars
but I haven’t sold anything. What’s going on?
No idea. Maybe it’s an NSF charge. Maybe you used eBay shipping labels and didn’t realize they charge 9% for using it.
Go to My eBay and pull up the invoice and copy the info here.
So, I’m with Lloyds TSB, have a bank card, use it all the time on online sites (amazon, ebay) and so on with no problems.
Today Helldone 2012 tickets went on sale and you had to buy them through a finnish site, but it had VISA available and you could order from the UK. It sold out very quickly but I managed to reserve some tickets and they have to be payed for by the 27th or they will go back for sale (can’t happen!) but when I fill in all my bank details correctly, it is declining them and I have no idea why. The information is correct and there is enough funds. I’ve tried countless times and now am unsure of what to do or why this is happening?
your Visa card has to be approved by your Bank for overseas transactions. They will limit it to the Country of origin to cut down on fraud, which is why you should always tell your Bank before going on holiday.
You may not have noticed, but is your card a visa electron?, because if it is then for a few Banks it isn’t valid for making overseas transactions unless you are there, in other words you can’t pay for purchases abroad when you are at home, you need a full Visa debit or credit card for that.

I’m trying to buy an original Game Boy and there are a lot of auctions going on, none of which end soon. I need to use my mom’s credit card, but she leaves for work in and hour. Is there a way I can win the auction now and pay later?
It depends what their policies are. Some sellers require payment right away, while others allow you to pay within a week or more. Check their selling policy. I suggest contacting the seller and ask them if you can buy now and pay tomorrow.
