Can someone give me insight on how to buy a car at an auction. How do you know if the car is any good?

January 9th, 2013 4 comments

I’m going to a car auction tomorrow morning and have no idea what to expect. My nanny needs a car and has about $2000 in cash to spend.

Depending on the auction, you may or may not have a chance to hear the car run. ou want to get there early, and be sure that you understand all the terms and conditions of the sale. There may be a buyers fee (a percentage of the selling price that is added to the final bid price) so be sure you allow for that. Most auction sales are final, there is no changing your mind for whatever reason, and the cars are sold "as is" "where is" "how is" and any other "is" you can think of.

Understand that most vehicles being sold at auction are there for a reason. They may be cars that were donated to charity, or they may be cars that dealers do not want to sell on their retail lots.

Bring someone knowledgeable about cars, to look for signs of major problems, but figure that you will need to spend some money for repairs to make the vehicle road worthy.

I would like to start an internet business and would like to know where to start?

I am looking for detailed steps since I have no computer background.

Hi there,

From my own experience i can highly recommend the following as a way of making money out of eBay WITHOUT having to sell anything.

http://tinyurl.com/r2g97y

Take a look at the package on offer. I did and after a bit of a learning curve, I had a website that was making me around $160 a month with minimal effort. So minimal in fact, I left it entirely to make money month by month and ‘sales’ have declined since – due to my own neglect. Money for old rope my dad called it! I probably made $800 out of that site and you can make as many sites as you can think of eBay niches to base them on. if you look at the forum, its full of people who have managed to give up their day job to become ebay partner affiliates. Its also packed full of advice relating to other ways of making cash on the net not related to ebay. There IS a learning curve but it gets easier as you go along and these is plenty of help. Its a turnkey product in theory although you do have to add content and make it unique etc

This is my ‘neglected’ site:

The US version:

Hope that helps!

Save Money By Buying A Used Car At A Car Auction

August 4th, 2012 3 comments

Save your money by opting for auction cars

Sometimes it is very difficult to find a second hand used car in a good condition. Well, if you are searching for a cheap car, it is advisable to take a look at the car auctions organized by police and government bodies. There are cars used by the police, open for auction somewhere in close proximity to you almost every alternate month.

Cars that are auctioned by police are generally the ones that are seized from criminals by the law enforcement agencies. These bodies are also in a practice of selling their own cars once they reach a certain age or go over say, 60,000 miles. These type of auctions offer a large volume of cars. In these auctions, it also happens that some of the good performing cars are sold for very cheap. It is easy for anyone to find a large variety makes and models right from the family cars to sports cars.

If you participate in any auction, you just have to place your bid on the cars you want to buy. During the auctioning, you get a directory of the cars that are open for bidding. So, according to your needs, pick the ones that are of your interest and place your bid. Always remember to find the resale value of the car you are interested in. Once you have determined the amount you are willing to spend for any car, you have to just place your bid. And if your bid is the highest one, the car will be yours. Most of the cars would go from 45 – 70 % less than their actual resale price. Therefore, don’t get excited and get into the bidding process by carefully watching the other bidders.

Try to reach the auction venue as early as possible and remain there until it gets over or until you have successfully owned the cars that you want to buy. Generally, the best deals strike either at the beginning or at the end of the auction. Most of the participants reach late at the auction venue and leave early. Comparatively, there is much less competition in the bidding at the beginning and at the end of an auction.

Before filing the final formalities such as writing the check, or verifying any other document, make sure that you have properly inspected the car. Most of the cars are in good condition but it is always suggested to be prudent, because once you have paid for the car, it’s final. Also, before leaving the auction venue, make sure that you are having all the documents needed for the ownership of the car.

The car auctions organized by the police and other government bodies are a great source of getting a second hand car in good running condition, much cheaper than its actual worth. Even if you use the car for an year or so and then resell it, it is possible that you get an amount higher than the amount at which you purchased the car.

How do you research a car auction?

June 16th, 2012 1 comment

I have a question currently about auctions. I have been reading some information since I put it on here to see what other people have already said. People have said research, find out about the cars before you go to an auction, etc. That is the problem, I don’t know how to find an auction to do the research on it or on cars that I think I may be interested in. How do I do that part? Finding the auction, doing the research on the car(s) I am interested in and doing the research on ther auction it self? Thanks.

It all depends on who hosts the car auction. If it’s your local police station, dealers, etc. You will hear it via newspaper or radio. Generally stuff like that is kept on the down low for several reasons.

More people will show (generated interest)
Which in turn drives up prices, etc.

If its an auction hosted over the internet scroll through the website and see what they have. If nothing is available then simply there really isn’t anything available.

What would the detailed process be in buying a car from a public auction?

June 14th, 2012 1 comment

I would like to know more about buying a car through a public auction, repossessed cars, police seized cars, government auctions. How do i get into these auctions? What can i expect? Where would the best auctions be located in California? How does the auction work? What are good sources to look up the car’s history before buying it through an auction? Are there available warranties or are these car’s "as is"? The more information you can provide, the better.

first off u cannot look up history ….unless u happen to pre-pay a multiple carfax before u go and carry ur smart phone with u and look it up once u are there…

** as far as auctions go most are scams…….and the ones that aren’t aren’t really open to the public……they are but the used car dealers go and can and WILL out bid anyone on anything decent……

** as for when and where contact ur local PD ….and every garage or mechanic has to auction off cars that they keep from ppl not paying the bill and they have to run an add in the paper about it at least one week in advance…….but again these "auctions" are rigged….basically mechanic will "pay himself" for car if u don’t offer enough money ……

Public auctions held by government agencies tend to offer better bargains. They are more concerned with selling to get rid of the vehicle inventories than profiting from the sales. How do i get a car auction license in Nevada?

February 4th, 2012 3 comments

Where and how do I get my car auction license in Nevada? I don’t have a car lot. I’d like to buy and sell cars part time. I don’t know where and how to get my car auction license. I would love to go to the auctions to buy maybe two or three cars and sell for a profit. I would appreciate someone out there with some experience at this or someone looking to do the same thing to point me in the right direction. Please include tips and concerns as well in this profession. Thank you.

You need to go to work for a dealer and find out what the ca Business is all about. You don’t have a clue. Do you think that you can sell? How would know how to buy or what to buy if you were at an auction.
