I am looking for a serious "auction house" in Quebec, Canada — the object is the sale of a heritage house in the Province of Quebec. Serious replies welcome.
eBay or eBay Canada
Seriously.
You don’t have to really "auction" your house off. You can just pay to list it on the eBay Real Estate section and let the millions of eBay users VIEW the house but not actually BID on it. It’s a great way to get TONS of people to see your house.

If I advertise my house for auction say for £245,000 what percentage would ebay take? Do you know of anyone who has done this successfully? Navigated ebay site and cant find the answer.
Thanks for your help.
you are playing with fire advertising your home on e-bay unless you put a reserve on the property and so many cranks will be able to view for criminal reasons, estate agents log visitors viewing homes for prevention of criminal activities as much as possible.e-bay charges are high it all depends on how much the item goes for,if you want to auction then put it through a legal auction house where you know the charges in advance.i think if a person does not have a mortgage at the time of purchase then they have 7 days to finalise one.personally i would not go down the avenue of e-bay will get loads of silly bids, that why i removed myself from e-bay.

The house was advertised to go to auction on July 17. We can’t find out whether or not it sold. We don’t know the auction company that had it. How do we find out if it sold and what the next steps are?
Hi Teresa,
Which auction? When you talk about a foreclosure – do you mean the sheriffs sale ( at the courthouse steps)? or was it sold by the bank through a auction house?
Ok, if you are talking about the auction at the courthouse steps – it definetly sold because the bank has an automatic bid for the amount that is owed to it. Depending on your area of the country – the bank usually has the highest bid and gets the house back after the redemption period is over.
If it was an auction company like hudson and marshall or williams and williams – then it was probably sold because these auctions are usually "absolute" meaning highest bidder wins regardless of amount, however, sometimes the bank says "no" and then they relist with a realtor. Alot depends on the houses actual value.
If you are working with a realtor they can look and find out for you.
Good luck

Someone please help, I’m going crazy. We live in a non judicial state. Auction to sell our house is set for 12-4-09. We are unemployed at the present time and will not be able to keep our house and have accepted that. But since the auction is in December and we really have no place to go until January, is there anything an attorney can do to delay the auction for a month or two. Please I am asking for serious answers only. This is hard enough to loose our home after trying desperately to save our house.
Since you currently have no way of paying the mortgage because of lack of income you are out of luck unless you can show a your lender that you have even the slightest chance of making the loan good.
Declaring bankruptcy would delay the foreclosure a couple of months, but that will cost your at least $2500 in attorney and legal fees. Sorry to say this but your situation is hopeless unless you can provide the lender a reasonable expectation that you will be able to resume payments, even modified payments, in the near future.

We’re downsizing and need to get rid of some furniture and assorted antiques. Has anyone out there had experience dealing with auction houses or estate sale dealers?
Should we send the stuff to an auction house(some of the pieces are large)? Have an on-site auction? Have an estate-type sale? We’re trying to decide which way to go.
Thanks for your help!

List an Auction on that site in your area. That’ll help with advertising if you choose to do it yourself. Other than that I’ve never delt with an auction.
How much does the auction house recieve from an auction? I know it depends on price but is their a certain percent they get from each auction? Would you lose more money from the auction house tax in one big auction or in a bunch of little auctions?
The Alliance and Horde Auction Houses would take 5% of the winning bid, while the Neutral Auction Houses would take 15%.
Because it is a percentage of the winning bid, it’ll cost the same in one big auction and if you split it into a bunch of little auctions.

I’m considering hosting an auction to sell my house; that seems like an interesting option.
I would like details outlining how this is done.
Thank you.
There is a book called How to Sell Your Home in 5 Days by Bill G. Effros that tells you how to hold a successful auction of your home. I have read it an it sounds like an interesting way to sell your house but it doesn’t sound like the smartest or best way to sell your house.
Do you want to sell it at auction because it would be fast or because you think it will get the most money? Are you trying to avoid paying a commission? Do you have financial troubles and the auction is the cheapest way to sell?
I think you need to figure out why you want to sell it by auction and not by owner or with the help of a professional Realtor though.

My dad put a lot of items up for sale in an auction house which all together sold for about 5 grand, but the auction house will be getting 4 grand leaving him with just 1 grand
That doesn’t sound right to me; how much do auction houses usually charge for selling your stuff
30% is a normal fee. Getting charged 80% is almost criminal. What does his agreement with the auction house state???
Many of you have heard that the auction house is going to eventually be integrated into the warcarft armory. This is awesome news! Will it be a premium option that costs money? Perhaps, but the more pressing question for me is will you be able to run addons like auctioneer while accessing the armory version of the auction house? I personally don’t expect an addon that makes use of xml (it wouldn’t be a wow addon in the first place) to read and write to the wow armory’s version of the auction house to appear anytime soon.
Regardless of how the auction house is integrated with armory there will be some serious changes to how markets flow in world of warcraft. I’m talking about the cycles of wow, you know raid items selling better on raid nights, pvp upgrades selling quickly on tuesday afternoons, etc. Normally you see less auctions during the middle of the day since people are working and there are also less buyers for the same reason. This is a great time to pick up deals on the auction house in order to prepare for posting later in the afternoon when prime time happens and most people get online. With the 24/7 nature of wow armory (except for patch days), there will never be a ‘down time’ on the auction house. This will greatly change trends and cycles in wow as more players will have access to both post and buy items all throughout the day. I expect to see huge influxes of players during lunch hours at work, as well as early morning when people arrive and read the news or check their mail. Now they’ll be checking their real life mail as well as their auction house mail.
Will the auction house be worth it without the dozens of addons the vast majority of successful auctions have come to love? See 22 steps to auctioneer to help you get started with that great addon if you haven’t already.
Leave some comments on what you think will happen, whether you would pay for the armory auction house, etc. Maybe blizzard will charge us per transaction lol. E-Trade in wow!
