Easy Way to Sell Information Products on Ebay

February 20th, 2013 5 comments

Selling information products on the Internet has been one of the biggest boom markets in the last 3 years. You can see that in the number of people selling ebooks, videos, and membership sites and so on, the Internet. Back in 1996 there were under 50 people selling information products online, now in 2005, there are literally millions of sites selling all sorts of information to all sorts of people.

So why are all these people flocking to sell information products online? Because of the promise of quick money from scam artists. Most people who are selling any sort of information online are usually resellers (affiliates or people who brought reprint rights to a product) or they created an ebook themselves. For more details go to www.auction-o-matics.com .What these people don’t understand is that the market is nearly saturated with the same books they are trying to sell. This of course leads to a price war, and then no one makes any money because they are all trying to undercut themselves to be the cheapest in the market. This is not a viable business idea.

So why would you want to get into creating information products and sell them on Ebay?

That’s a good question.

The reason why I’ve been profiting from selling information products is because I make myself different. I don’t go out there selling the same information, I go out there and break new ground with great products at great prices that people actually want to buy, and the best part is I usually spend nothing on advertising.

It still really is possible to make your fortune online with information products; you just have to find 3 things.

1) A hungry market

2) A good product

3) An unrelenting sales machine

All of this will be covered in this guide.

So what exactly are you going to learn in this guide? Here’s a quick run down of what I’m going to teach you, then we will get into business…

Why Sell Information Products On Ebay?

Ebay is the Mecca of online shopping. If you can’t find the product or category you are after on Ebay, it’s probably because it doesn’t exist.

Ebay literally has millions of people with cash in, hand coming into it’s online store everyday looking to buy what ever takes their fancy, and this in my opinion makes Ebay the bee’s knee’s when it comes to advertising online. For more information logon to www.auctions-profits.com .So few people actually think of Ebay as a viable way to make money with their information products. The few who do understand its power are making their fortunes online.

Let me give you a few examples. Connect to the Internet if you have not already and have a look at the following Ebay sellers and make sure to look at their feedback and see what they have sold!

Create a Successful Home Business on Ebay

February 20th, 2013 3 comments

Many people have at least entertained the idea of starting up their own business on eBay, to allow them the freedom of working from home on their own schedule. However, few actually make the leap into trying, and fewer still are actually successful at creating a home business on eBay that brings in a decent income. The reason for so many failures is that most people don’t bother to do their research, pay attention to their customers’ wants and needs, or even take advantage of the tools available to them to increase their chances at success. You can save yourself from making these pricey mistakes and steer clear of failure with these simple tips:

Do Your Research

Before you start picking up items on eBay, do some research to see what items are selling well at the moment. Just by checking out the current auctions on eBay, you can find the most profitable products that you can sell yourself to make money. Try viewing different categories, and then organize the listings by highest bid first, to see what items are fetching the highest price. These are the items you want to focus on selling yourself.

Focus On Customer Service

This is the most obvious way to build up a successful business, and yet, so many sellers completely ignore it. Customer service is the cornerstone of any good business. Unhappy customers means less sales, and ultimately, an unhappy seller. Go above and beyond with your customers, offering them a return policy, exceptional service, polite responses to their questions, and prompt solutions for their problems. Include extras in your packages, like a hand-written thank you note, or a small bonus item along with their auction item. Every little bit counts, and your customers will definitely take notice. These are the things that keeps customers coming back, and will encourage them to spread the word about your business.

Take Advantage Of The Extras

Sellers on eBay have a lot of tools available to them to boost their visibility and their business’s profits. Take advantage of everything eBay has to offer. Build up your about me page with information about you, your business, and your customer service policies. Use your eBay blog to talk about the products you are offering for sale. Participate in the forums and help new buyers out, and they’ll likely follow the link to your store. Anything that gets your name out there can help you gain more customers.

Taking the time to utilize the options available, provide your customers with quality customer service, and researching the items that sell before investing in anything are the three key steps to building a successful home business on eBay. With so many sellers skipping these essentials, you can really push yourself ahead of the competition if you just take the time to work out your strategies before you begin selling. Focus on these methods, and you will no doubt see wonderful results if you stick to it.

When does Ebay charge the final value fee?

February 15th, 2013 4 comments

I am preparing to sell my first item on ebay for about 350 bucks. To list it, it is 40 cents, but how much and when will the final value price and any other fees be charged? Do they automatically take it out of my money?

eBay requires sellers to set up an automatic payment method to pay their selling fee invoice, although eBay does allow you to pay early with a different method. When eBay invoices will be due varies for each seller, if I recall, the cut off is either set up for the 1st or 15th, mine is the 15th of the month, and I receive a bill a few days later and then in a few more days the money is automatically withdrawn from my payment source.

eBay – How do I pay my selling fees:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/seller-fees.html

The eBay listing fees are charged to your account when you list an item, and the final value fees are charged to your account when the item sells, but you pay by your monthly invoice.

As to fee expenses. You have eBay listing fees, eBay final value fees if the item sales, and PayPal fees if you are paid via PayPal. I usually allow about 15% for fees.

Basically the costs are the listing fees for most things to "auction" which are about 10 cents to $2 and the final value fee is about 9% plus PayPal fee if applicable, which is about 3% (see further down).

The fixed price fees really require reading the fees chart, but basically about 7% to 13% plus a 50 cent listing fee unless you have an eBay store. There are add-on options you can add like bold and highlight so as you can see, the fee costs are complicated, depending if it’s an auction or fixed priced listing and any extras. The link to the eBay fee page is below.

The PayPal information is:
There’s no fee to use PayPal to purchase goods or services. However, if you receive money for goods or services (such as from selling an item on eBay), the fee for each transaction is 2.9% plus $0.30 USD of the amount you receive. The link is below.

Here is some additional eBay seller info from their web site:

What are the requirements to sell on eBay? Provide us with a valid credit card, debit card, or bank account information. Let us know how you would like to pay your seller fees. Select the payment methods you’ll accept. Make sure your Feedback Profile is public. We also recommend that you become PayPal verified.

can someone explain to me how to invest in silver?

January 13th, 2013 3 comments

Someone told me if i were to buy silver bullion and wanted to sell it back i would have to mark up the price and the buyer would buy at a discount but i dont quite understand this. can someone explain it to me?
im basically trying to find out how much money i would lose if i were selling silver back
and would i also get taxed if i ever sold my silver for a profit?

It depends upon where and with who you buy and sell from. Standard precious metal dealers will typically charge a bit of a premium on their bullion (a price above market rate), plus shipping and handling fees. If there is a metals auction in your area, you can buy at auction, though sales tax could apply there. You can also buy and sell silver bullion on eBay – but you will need to watch your bids as they can easily get well above market price, and shipping charges may apply.

If you sell your silver back to a dealer, they will want to buy it back from you at a discount to the market price – they are after all in the business to make money. You can attempt to sell it directly to investors at a local auction (though commission charges will apply) or through eBay (again, commission will apply). It really depends who you sell it to. Dealers and scrappers will want a discount from the spot rate, investors will pay closer to the actual spot rate.

Profit or loss will depend upon the spot rate at the time of purchase and sell. If silver has gone up enough to more than cover the premium, initial sales tax paid, shipping costs, then you will make a profit. If the spot rate has declined or not increased enough to cover your other costs, then you will have a loss.

Just like buying and selling any other product, you will have to pay taxes on your gains. Speak to your tax professional for the correct tax treatment of your gains from silver.

How to sell things on eBay?

January 11th, 2013 2 comments

I want to sell a rather expensive item on eBay and I would rather do a ‘Buy it Now’ sale as opposed to an auction. If I also add the ‘Or Best Offer’ option can I reject the offers, or do I have to give the item to the highest offer? I don’t want to need to give it away for a very low price, so please leave advice.

You can sell buy it now together with best offer
Buyer who sent best offer only win if you accept the offer . You can also set auto decline if they offer lower than ( exp $200 )

Hope this help

What are good things to sell on ebay?

January 7th, 2013 2 comments

Im 18 and I want to make 250 dollars for a blackberry. What can I sell on ebay to make that much? I know it might take a few months and thats fine. What sells the best?

It doesn’t matter what you sell. As it is often said, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. Most everyone collects or wants something or other.

SMALLER ITEMS – sell on eBay
BIG and/or HEAVY items – sell on Craigslist

The thing you want to be aware of with the most popular items is that you will have the MOST COMPETITION from other sellers who sell the same items. To wit, you can’t be competitive and make a decent profit unless you get the best wholesale price to maintain an adequate profit margin. If your opening bid price is higher than other sellers selling the same items, you won’t have many sales.

Other suggestions for items to sell:

Look no further than ebay itself. You will not be looking for single item listings but rather your target will be listings that have similar, grouped items. There are ebay ‘vultures’ who just love to swoop down on similarly grouped items in one listing. When they win these auctions, they turn around and sell the items individually and, in most cases, get one and a half to 2 times and sometimes three times what they paid for them on an average item basis. I know this works. When I had more time (read unemployed), I was one of these ‘vultures.’ This is one of those situations where the parts are worth more than the whole. However, do be cautious if you venture into this arena. You have to know your merchandise. Stay in those areas you are familiar with. You can’t jump in blindly to any and every auction that has grouped items.

If you can buy a large lot of similar merchandise for $100 to $200 and turn it around for $300 to $600, it works out very nicely, indeed! Most buyers of these large lots will be vultures as well so you could be ‘butting bids.’ Keep in mind that the higher the closing price at ebay, the less your profit on the turnaround. It’s not an exact science and it does take a little experience to really know what you’re doing but you can’t be afraid to go out on a limb. That’s where the fruit is. When I see an auction of grouped items it tells me loud and clear that the seller is far more interested in getting rid of their stuff the quickest, easiest way possible and ‘be done with it’ rather than in making a decent profit or profit at all.

Short of items to sell and where to find items to sell? Garage and yard sales, church bazaars, flea markets are obvious. These can be the cheapest sources of merchandise. ‘Junktique’ shops are not that good because these folks know their merchandise. This being the case, it is usually OVERPRICED, not under priced.

If you want to let your fingers do the walking, you too can be crafty ‘vulture’ like a select group of other ebay sellers. Become a member of several smaller auction sites and search for bargains there. But as before, ‘stick with what you know.’

These smaller auction sites are great for buyers for the same reason they are bad for sellers:

Fewer potential bidders = Less competition = Lower closing prices.

Turn them around on ebay:

The ebay formula:

LARGEST auction site by far = MAXIMUM competition = HIGHER closing prices

There are also volume sellers who concentrate on only a handful of popular items by buying in volume / wholesale at a discount and selling at a discount. The average schmo at eBay can’t compete with volume sellers of a particular item.

GOODWILL sometimes also has good bargains, but not always. Mondays / Tuesdays are the best days to visit Goodwill as most people will drop off their donations on Saturdays and Sundays and it has to be cleaned, sorted and marked before it can be placed on display.

To maximize profits, sell WORLDWIDE, not just one country. A basic business tenet is, ‘The greater the potential market, the greater the potential to maximize profits.’ It’s TRUE! You will now have access to 200+ million members.

GOOD LUCK!

Ebay question about canceling the winning bidder because he is in Nigeria?

January 5th, 2013 6 comments

I listed a laptop for sale on Ebay but the winning bidder lives in Nigeria. I stated in the description that I only ship to the United States so can I just cancel his bids and offer it to the next highest bidder? When I tried to cancel the bid it said that I can’t because the auction all ready ended.
Thanks Renata, thats alot of help. Go shoot yourself.
OH MY GOD DOES ANYONE ON ANSWERS ACTUALLY CONTRIBUTE USEFULL ANSWERS?????????????

You can contact ebay (live help) and explain what is going on with your listing.

Or, you can tell your buyer that you will only accept a international money order payable in U.S. dollars AND that the money order will have to clear your bank before you send out the laptop to them.

Since you stated that you only sell to buyers within the United States, you need to set your prefrences so that only U.S. bidders can bid on your listings.

To do that, follow the following steps.

Go to "My Ebay", under "My Account", (left hand column), you’ll see "Site Preferences". Click on that.

Under "Selling Preferences", go to the 8th item down, which will say "Buyer requirements". To the right of that, click on "show"

Now you’ll see this:

Block buyers who:
Have received 2 Unpaid Item strike(s) within 1 Month(s).
Are registered in countries to which I don’t ship
Have a feedback score of -1 or lower
Are currently winning or have bought 10 of my items in the last 10 days and have a feedback score of 5 or lower

Click on "edit" and check this box:

Buyers in countries to which I don’t ship
Block buyers who are registered in countries to which I don’t ship.
This requirement can help you avoid buyers who agree to purchase your items without realizing you don’t ship to their location.

Then click on "submit"

You’re done then.

Hope this helps!

What can I do about an ebay complaint?

January 1st, 2013 3 comments

I put a bunch of items (wedding presents that did not suit our tastes, from overseas relatives we have never met) up for sale. The auction finished on Tuesday. I tried 3 times every day to go to the post office Wednesday, Thursday and Friday during work hours (the only time they’re open) to find a line out the door (and I couldn’t wait as it was during work hours). I emailed all of the buyers this problem to le them know about the delay, and posted everything successfully on Saturday morning.
I should say that the shipping details state on each item I will "usually ship withing 2 days".
Today (Friday night, the next week) I received a message from a buyer saying "I DID want to give this as a gift to someone tomorrow, but I guess I can’t now, because I still haven’t received it".
Now, postal service aside (because it really should have arrived with the buyer by now), how do I handle this?
I’m not running a business from ebay, I’m just selling some household items for a little extra pocket money (the item in question was a $5 picture frame), but I really don’t want negative feedback because I sell so little that it will effect my statistics.
How should I respond to this person?

The post office will pick up packages from you if you print your own labels.

Just tell the buyers the items are going out on such and such a date. I would offer a refund to the buyer who wanted the item sent right away.

Change your shipping time to 3 days.
