Why dont hyundai cars sell on ebay motors?

November 20th, 2012 Leave a comment Go to comments

Hi i have several preowned hyundais i need to sell ebay motors. (doing a favor for a friend that owns hyundai dealership) i searched completed listings and 90% of the hyundai cars listed dont sell, why is this? I need to sell these cars

selling cars on ebay is dumb. people buy locally, not through ebay unless looking for a rarity, something junkie and super cheap, or to get ripped off

preowned / used Hyundais sell like crazy. they are great values, and if newer still have lots of warranty left. they are very attractive on the used car market. if your friend is truly a dealer, wtf is he going on ebay for unless he wants to take a loss or has truly GREAT deals on cars for whatever reason?

price them unrealistically cheap and they will sell. otherwise forget about it. or, if they are HIGH mileage cars, well, i wouldn’t buy any car off ebay, much less high mileage ones. unless i just didn’t care

There is just no market for used Hyundai’s

People want classic cars more and more

who would ever buy a used Hyundai when a new one costs ~10-15k? They obviously aren’t great cars if they sell for so cheap. So presumably, the new ones are no good, so why should the used ones be any good? Hyundai is just a knock-off brand.

You should search some other brands while you are at it, I bet you’d find most have sale fail rates of at least 70%. The truth is, the majority of the vehicles on ebay are listed by dealers and the majority of people bidding aren’t serious and only playing around. So many dealers list their new and used inventory on ebay, craigslist, autotrader etc and the sale rate is quite low because they aren’t going to sell you a new Sonata for $10K when the retail is $20K. Most of these auctions have a reserve about 10-15% below the MSRP and why would you pay that rate when you can just go to your dealer in person and get the same price? It sounds like you are a dealer with "several pre-owned Hyundai’s to sell". Honestly, how many people want to buy a car off ebay unless it’s for way below book value and then have to fly across the country to drive it back home?
