I want to start selling on Ebay anybody has some good tips for a beginner?

would want advice from someone with Ebay selling experience…thanks

I sold items for a year on ebay after closing a retail shop I owned for 3 years. I then ended up selling items for others.

Here’s my advice….in short anyways since I’m pressed for time.

Run 7 day auctions…starting around 7 pm Eastern Sunday to Sunday.

Start bidding at 99 cents!

Flat rate shipping via Priority Mail (use flat rate boxes or other….and always tack on a dollar or more for handling fee…which most buyers expect…to cover cost of packaging materials beyond the free boxes you can get at usps.com)

Keep your description to the point and don’t ramble on and on. I used the same format for all items I sold and just filled in the blanks.

Make sure your photos are of the best quality. Photos sell.

Let me know if you have other questions. (advtglady2005@yahoo.com)

Just make sure that you list things in the exact condition that they are in and put a disclaimer at the bottom as far as shipping…i.e. insurance is recommended as I am not responsible for packages once given to usps…or whatever you like to that effect. Make sure that you include packaging materials and such in your shipping price…I always include an extra $1.50 or so for whatever materials I may need to ship-i.e. bubble wrap, packing peanuts, boxes etc…good luck to you!

Read the tips on the e-bay site – those will get you going.

Don’t list too many items at one time – it can be confusing!

If you get offers to buy before the end of the auction, or requests to add a "Buy It Now" – politely refuse (the one’s we’ve had went for 3-4 times the amounts that were offered!!!)

Depending on what you are selling, you may have better results with some kind of return policy – but limit the time. (Basically, everything I sell is "As IS" unless misrepresented we are not experts on our items!)

Search on similar items – it will help you with pricing. And check the e-bay price fees – you may be better off starting the auction at $9.99 rather than $10.00

    Best of luck!!

Hi – I am a Powerseller and sell 300+ items a month. Have been selling on eBay since 2003 and have sold 12,000 items worldwide.

What kind of advice do you want? What to sell? Where to find it? How to use eBay? Customer service? Shipping? Setting up an eBay store? Selling internationally? If you can be more specific, I can help you.

    Good luck-
