Make sure you include as many keywords as possible

Most people find items on eBay by using the search facility, therefore it’s important that you include words in your title that people are likely to be searching for. People that write titles which are just too plain will lose out on sales. This tip seems like an obvious one, but you would be shocked at how many people don’t optimize their titles with proper keyword use!

Spell accurately

Spelling mistakes don’t show up in search results. If I search for “Playstation” and your auction title has it listed as “Playstataion” then I won’t find your item. Most people don’t make spelling mistakes purposely, that’s why they’re called mistakes. If you notice that you did make a mistake after you’ve already listed your item you may still be able to go back and correct it if you do so prior to any bids being placed. One misspelled keyword can ruin all your hard work!

Be descriptive

If you’re selling a new item, make sure you point that out in your title. If your item is in excellent condition, again make sure you say so. Try to be creative as well, look at your auction title as a buyer would.

Example, instead of saying “Pair Of Computer Speakers Used Condition Work Great”… try “Pair Of Computer Speakers w/ Manual Included Like New.”

Finally…

I get frequent emails from my newsletter readers wondering why their eBay auctions aren’t working.

You might have the most brilliant auction description page with a fantastic set of pictures offering a superb item at an incredible price for the help www.auction-entrepreneur-kit.com. But the page counter shows after seven days of your auction that it’s only been seen by 3 people. Has that happened to any of your auctions?

If it has, I always start at the same point. The auction title.

In 99% of cases, the reason for low viewing figures is that your auction title isn’t smart enough.

Here are a few facts. At the end of this small list you’ll understand the secret power of eBay auction titles:

a) 79 million times each day buyers use eBay’s search box to locate items in which they are interested.

b) eBay’s standard search system takes the search words keyed in, and compares them with the titles in its database of 10 million auctions. (Note it doesn’t compare them with sub-titles, or Auction descriptions)

c) If an auction title doesn’t contain the words keyed into the search box, the auction won’t get returned in the search results list. And that’s another of the 79 million searches you’ve missed out on!

d) If an auction isn’t returned in a search list, it can’t be clicked on to have the auction description viewed.

So, the whole of eBay’s default search system relies on matching keywords with auction titles. And that’s the secret power of auction titles for the help www.mining-auction-gold.com. Let’s say you want to create a new auction. Remember, your auction title has three functions:

You can add a power word or two if you’ve space. By this I mean words like stunning, limited edition, unique, rare, new, one-off, exclusive, distinctive, dramatic etc. These are words which can influence buyers to click through to your auction description. They won’t be searched on by buyers, so use them sparingly. For the same reason, I don’t advocate the use of “clever” words like l@@k or w0w!

Finally, do the words in your title convey what the item is? If so, that’s it. You’ve created a powerful and compelling auction title. And your title will appear more often in search return lists. And, as you know, that’s the key!

If you can get your auction to appear more often in search return lists, more buyers will view your auction description page. The more people that visit your auction description page, the more likely you are to make a sale at an acceptable price.

I want to become rich…yes, everyone has this dream, but I actually read about techniques, save my money and such. I have 1,000 dollars in a CD, roughly 700 in savings, and over 200 dollars at my house, which I am about to deposit into my savings. I get this money from mowing lawns. From this I get 95 dollars every two weeks plus I do the occaisional garage sale. I would have more, but I have to pay for every "extra" thing I want. I am a big sports card collector, and I probably have 200 dollars worth of that, but the value of my cards is bound to go up, but thats a different story. I also worked for my own computer which I got for a neighbor in exchange for doing their lawn 5 times (100 dollars worth of work). I have other stuff, but I need to get to the point:

I am looking for answers from older people such as: I want to go into business. Besides business and finance, what other degrees should I go after? I am also learning spanish because a good bit of the population will be mexican/spanish when I get older. Also, I know there is no guaranteed way to make money, but what businesses are a safe bet to turn profits? I would own my own card store, but I assume that won’t work out seeing as how ebay and other sites have pretty much destroyed that business for store owners. Also, do you older folks have any tips that you have learned over your lifetime that would help me succeed.

Again, I am not one of those normal teens that says: "How can I make quick easy money…I don’t want to do hard work for it, maybe I can do online surveys or something." DUH. I am a motivated person who wants to and will work to succeed

First, you should feel good about being on the right track. You aren’t falling into the "get rich quick" mentality – doing well, especially in your own business, takes hard work and a lot of effort. Also, having an interest in making money at your age is great.

There are so many types of businesses to choose from, what you first need to decide is what types of businesses fit your talents and desires. I have owned an ad agency, manufacturing company, consulting business, and restaurants. As it turned out I hated the restaurant business – it was the same thing day after day and way too long of hours. I prefer being able to travel and more variety. But the point is you need to think about what you want.

Business is the best education to get; if you want to take other classes do it because you are interested. A second language is a good idea. You should also learn computer skills – how to design a web site, etc. That will make you self-sufficient and you won’t have to pay someone to do that stuff for you.

There is no "safe" business. The world changes – sports card stores, video stores, book stores and many others were thriving not that many years ago and are struggling to stay afloat now. Information products are low cost to get into, you can sell them online and you can change them as market demands change. I know a guy that came up with a book and video on how to install a security system in your home – he is making a good living from selling that online.

I have been selling our squeaky 2 shoes on ebay for along time. I have hardly any bids on my stuff right now. Does anyone think there is a better day to start an auction, like a certain day to start Monday versus Saturday, or is it all the same. sometimes i do great and have tons of bids and sales, but right now, so slow. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

You’re working backwards. You want to concentrate on when the auction ends, not begins. This is because Ebay shows Auctions that are closing the soonest before auctions ending later. So you want your auction to end when the most people are on the site. I found this was typically Saturday or Sunday.

the listing fees and comission, you can pay when ever you want. I mean like in a week or two.
