Ebay…. Require immediate payment or not?

I have abot $500 in unpaid items from the last few weeks all from but it now. Is it better to require them to pay when buying or does that slow down sales. I know they’ll pay sooner or later, but I just don’t like having all of that stuf uncleared. I like to take care of things right away. Also I’m also worried that I’ll miss when something does get paid because it’s so far down on the list.

What do you do?

I use to sell on ebay, just a word of advice, you shouldn’t have a pay immediately but require them to pay promptly say within 5,7 or 10 days. I tried giving some people the benifit of the doubt and when I pressed for payment or I was going to make a complaint, one had finally sent payment after 3 weeks by check, and then made a complaint to ebay saying they never got their item becuase he forgot to pay me the next day. Needless to say ebay won’t hear my side of it- So Now I no longer sell because some buyers won’t comply. Good luck!

make sure to put in your listing the time limit to pay. I usually give people 5-7 days to pay. if they don’t pay with in that time frame email and remind them. immediate payment will probably keep people from bidding because they can’t pay until payday. hope this helps
