What can i sell on eBay to supplement my income?

November 30th, 2012 Leave a comment Go to comments

I currently work 40 hours/week and make good money, but I am saving to buy a house and wanted to put my weekends to use. I would prefer to work from home on the weekends, so I was thinking about buying and reselling on eBay. I have sold numerous things on eBay, but I would like to open an eBay store. What items are good to sell for a quick profit??
Any other work at home suggestions are appreciated.

There are a few ways to make decent money off eBay.

One simple way is to check garage sales every week and look for items dirt cheap that you can sell for more on eBay.

You could also drop ship for manufacturers, but there is more risk involved in that.

Everything has a value. Buyers and Sellers. Research, Research and Research. This sometimes takes the "quick" out of profit.

beware of the bombardin gtrade supplier emails. find something you would like to sell and then google for suppliers. scour charity shops as many of these have clothes donate that are in fantastic condition that will double your proce on ebay. Not sure about the quick profit approach though.

As you are saving to buy a new house maybe you could start by having a clear out. List your items on Ebay for a week, alternate the next week with a futher listing and then after a feew weeks anything that you don’t sell give to charity yourself. This way you can clear out and hopefully make money.

I tried the ebay store route and I found that unless you have a good set of items and a basic amount of money to ‘invest’ you can’t really keep the store running. Calculate the costs of a store sale versus a listing sale. I changed my mind when I realised you have to be constantly making sales to keep up with the ebay, paypal and postal charges.

If you do have a supply of goods that can be made constant, my latest thought is to start my own website in the same way that an ebay store would work. Create and list your items on your website, offer the same payment options as ebay, but this way you tend to find you can make more profit as the website costs do not rise with every item sale as it does on ebay.
