Got any tips for selling on ebay?

I am trying to get rid of some old trading cards I have. I just want to know some tips about how the whole process works so I can make a good first sale.

well first make sure you have a paypal account its free to set up and only accept payments via paypal.I would also do a search on e-bay for similar products so that you know what kind of a price you can ask. If you set it to high you may not get any bids.Make sure you also type down the details of the product"what it is" the "condition" Etc…Also take very good pictures of what your selling people like to see what they are buying make sure you take pictures of any defects and mention them in your listing this will cover your butt if someone complains that the product is damaged. And make sure you state your warranty terms in bold letters on the listing "sold as is" "All sales final" Etc…I also have noticed that I seem to sell things closer to the weekends when people get paid so if you list it on Sunday for 7 days be patient if you don’t get any bites at first. Good Luck to you.

Give a good description of what you are selling with clear pictures. Make sure you list it in the correct category. Check spelling. Also make it so your auction ends on a Sunday. Research shows that Sunday afternoon has the most internet traffic than any other day for eBay. But dont be disappointed if your first sale dont go very high. eBay works on a rating system. The higher your feedback rating, the more people will be looking at your auction. Good luck

In my humble opinion research is key. Some free research tactics I would try would be looking at the completed listings for ‘trading cards’ using the advanced feature of Ebay:
    http://search.ebay.com/ws/search/AdvSearch?sofindtype=13
ans studying the sold items (ones in green) and see what tactics they are using

You could also use the free mpire research tool to find out best keywords, best time to list, how long auction should be for, what ebay features to use.

See results for trading cards here:
    http://www.mpire.com/research/results.page?query=trading+cards+

or if link doesn’t work try typing in trading cards from here:
    http://www.mpire.com/research/search.page

A paid option you could use is Ebay’s Marketplace research:
