eBay Tells Buyers Average Sale Prices in YOUR AD | eBay Catalog UPC ISBN Item Details

http://www.katiepatton.com
YOU CAN OPT OUT OF SHOWING THIS INFORMATION. If you sell a book or dvd or video game on eBay you will be asked to search for your product by using the UPC or ISBN. When eBay has found your product they wil give the option to use a Stock Photo and Item Details. I have noticed that in the Item Details provided Ebay shares the Average Sales price for New and Used items. This tells YOUR customers that the could get the item cheaper elsewhere OR that your item is cheaper. This could hurt or help you. If you sell something for more than the average someone could click away from your product. THIS IS THE FIRST INFORMATION listed in the Details area. It is another way eBay hurts its sellers and bends over backwards for its customers.

I don’t think your getting the point. If a item becomes rare the value increases. which makes old stats about the value irreverent 😀

    We need to organize …
We need to organize a eBay boycott where we all stop selling for a week. if 100,000 sellers stop all the same day, they will listen.

I use to sell books …
I use to sell books on eBay, a lot of books. I would use their item details; and, sometimes their item details where wrong; and, they would damage my sellers rating sometime later when it was brought to their attention that the details where wrong. eBay would do this damage to my rating without even giving me a notice to update the details as if I intentionally mislead the buyers. To become a true Power seller with thousands of items you will need your own automation beyond what eBay offers.

That is because eBay has Amazon envy. They are trying to be Amazon and that is why sellers like me are running to their own web sites and Amazon. I wish google would start an Auction site!
