Ebay or private record dealer?
Hi
I have 1497 7" vinyl from 70s 80s and 90s and 250 12" of the same era.
I also have 247 Hardcore/Freeform 12" and 197 dance/trance/house 12".
Am i better off trying to sell these on ebay(i’ve been watching and the record sales are really slow)or am i better off finding a 2nd hand record store?
Thanks in advance

See what kind of deal the record store will give you.
You have a lot, so it should be pretty decent.

Yes, you can sell them all at once to a record shop, but they will reject anything they don’t think will make money for them.
They will also give you only a fraction of the true value. You will be lucky to get 25%. More like 10%.
So even if you only sell a small portion of your collection on eBay, you will come out way ahead money wise.
It’s a pain to mail off all those records though.
But if you are getting even just 1/2 the value, you are still way ahead in the game.
If you use the "buy it now", and undersell the competition, they should move faster. The more fair you are, the faster it will go, and you might get repeat buyers.
If you go for top dollar, be prepared to wait and wait.
If it is a rare album, you should use the "auction" option. Let the buyers slug it out. Just make the opening price slightly less than you can stand. It should work out. It’s all a crap shoot, so there is no way of knowing exactly what they outcome will be.
