Ebay Garage Sale Haul – June 24 & 25, 2011

October 17th, 2012 Leave a comment Go to comments

Friday was a slow day, but I got some good deals on Saturday. I think one of my best deals was a box full of old action figures from the 80s and 90s. And I scored a great deal from the Free Box at our local library.

    Thanks Heather. I …
Thanks Heather. I will look forward to that video. I didn’t mean early early. I was just wondering if it was better to go earlier rather than later. I would never go before their advertised opening time. Thanks again for replying so quickly!

    Your not alone, …
Your not alone, many do this lately, times are tough and I think the more ambitious are grabbing what they can to make a profit. I am going to be careful and think more about just giving expensive items out to free boxes so someone else can make a profit on it. If I wanted to do that, I would sell it myself, not give it to someone to sell, there is a difference. There is a line here between need and greed, I think anyway. Many feel differently about it I am sure.

    I think your …
I think your basically a good person, I like what you are sharing, it’s nice, interesting. But I want you to know that when I give something to the free box, at the library or put up something for free on Craigs list, I give it to someone who otherwise is too poor to buy it. A poor kid a family. I have seen people grab nice things free on CL, sell it the next week. I think this is very greedy, if I give it, it’s not to a person who doesn’t need it and sells it, it’s a gift to use.

    Thanks! I’ll try …
Thanks! I’ll try and make a video about garage sale tips. I started writing people’s questions in a notebook last week b/c I was losing track and felt bad! I go to sales when I can. I NEVER go early b/c I think it’s rude. I know I probably miss out, but I can’t do it. It’s kind of a crap shoot. I’ve found great things early and great things later in the day. I don’t have a solid strategy. But I do like estate sales on the 2nd day….usually 50% off! TFW, Heather

    I love your video’s …
I love your video’s on what you get at all the garage sales. I just wanted to ask if you have a strategy for them. Like do you go early or go late for maybe better deals. I am new to the garage sale scene so any pointers would be great. Or if you have a video about how to do the garage sale thing that would be great too. Thanks.

    You’re very welcome …
You’re very welcome! Glad you had so much luck with the bibles you found! I still haven’t figured out what the best qualities are to look for in bibles, so I buy them all…lol! Besides, they’re so cheap (or free). The Scofield ones are very desirable, as is anything with a leather cover and the ones with helps or a concordance, or a red letter edition. All those extras can really drive up the price. Good luck bible hunting! TFW, Heather

lol I loved LazyTown! 🙂 Thank you for the info about Bibles! I picked one up at Goodwill. It was 1.50, burgandy leather Scofield Reference Guide version of KJV Bible from 1945, like new. Sold for 46.99! 🙂 I found another one recently, from 1917, the year they came out, but it will bring around 25. Very fun! 🙂

Hey, Leslie. I’ll have to send you a message about the books. I have to figure out what they’re selling for separately. I don’t know a way to check how long a listing has been up…wish I could. The best you can do is check the completed listings and they only show you what ended in the past 2 weeks. Might be easier to sell the books on Amazon. TFW, Heather

Wow, your kids are still in school up there? Yikes! Yes, my kids and I are very happy, but unfortunately, I now have to drive my son to summer school every day for English until the end of July! Maybe this will teach him that he actually does have to do his homework!! TFW, Heather

I got a great vintage photo album at a sale a couple weeks ago that I’m keeping for myself. I have a bunch of old black and white family photos I want to put in it. But I know I’d get really frustrated with that Victorian one I bought this weekend….lol. You definitely should put photos in yours. TFW, Heather
