Has Ebay gone down the shoot for sellers?
Let me start off by saying I’m not much of a seller on ebay but am thinking about getting more involved with it.
(DO NOT START GIVING ME ADVICE IF I ASK THEN FINE BUT OTHERWISE NO THANK YOU)
Anyway it seems like everytime I go on Ebay and decide to sell something that there are like a hundred of what ever I want to sell.
Is it just me or has Ebay become more like a mass Junk sale than an actual market place where you used to be able to sell something that no one else had or very few did.
o.O FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are right….. Ebay HAS become a buyers market.
All these late-nite infomercials have created a self-perpetuating MLM scam that thousands want to enter every week. All you WILL find is at least 100 others drop shipping the same product from the same supplier to the same audience.
The ONLY thing on Ebay that is a true money maker is if YOU manufacture the products you sell, OR, if you become a regional sellers assistant ( thats an EBAY program), OR.. if you open your own brick-and-mortar store that does nothing but Ebay listings and sells for other people. You get paid a listing fee and a commission, so you get paid whether the item sells or not…
You are smart to stay away from those late nite info-mercial come-ons, as the only one making money on those things is the dude SELLING THEM TO YOU…
That’s an understatement……I’ve switched to GARAGESALEFOREVER.COM………IT’S FREE!!!! to list and sell

I agree completely. I frequently sell musical instruments that I have refurbished on ebay and I am stuck competing with cheap, horribly made imports. There are hundreds of these imports that clog up searches and make it difficult for buyers to find my products. eBay’s final value fees also drive me nuts. It doesn’t cost them more to list my $1,000.00 item than my $1.00 item…why should they get such a huge chunk?!? I’ve started using craigslist more…

I know the feeling. I looked at ebay about a year ago… looked around for wholesalers, and didn’t feel like I could make money. I started by doing refurbished stuff bought in online auctions… Did that until I got screwed out of $900… Now I got into selling custom computers… (BTW, One way to get out of the mass market / based on price only issue..)
You are right though, ebay definitely has changed from a "unique items" place into a mass market place… That’s why many more sales are from fixed price items rather than auctions.

its getting harder to sell on ebay because of everyone selling the same item so i started to sell on jtbids.com instead because its free and not many people are selling the same items as you

You understand an important point of eBay is to move mass products not make a killing with a few. Therefore, sell pennies over your cost and double your S&H cost. Ship immediately get those good reports, grow and selling becomes easier, then you find the right product every once in a while that you’re able to double your investment and S&H. Good Sales…
