Ebay kicked me permantly off 4 trying to sell a purse & watch I thought real . No warning. How to get back on?

Ebay took down my site when listed a Rolex watch I had for sale because I did not have original papers for it. It was real. Then I put up a Gucci handbag and they took that down without any explaination. I put up a Tag Huge watch box that I personally had and decided to sell when I saw others on ebay for sale and that is when they took my account down saying I was selling a potential item that could be used for selling a fraud watch!!! You can sell the old ones, but not the ones that are made (in my case, in 1999.) !! I was selling it in good faith and did check the item out on ebay before I listed it. I had over 690 positives on my feedback. I now have lost all that, plus am permantley suuspended from ever selling on ebay again. I feel this injust that they did this and want to know if anyone has dealt with this or has any information on how to appeal. I did tender a signed a paper saying I wanted to be reinstated and sent them my licence and utility bill. They still refused me. HELP!

I think the only way you could get back on is if you get a receipt or appraisal of the items showing that they are authentic. Fax them to the same number that you sent the other information to. I don’t suggest you sign up a new account, because eBay has a way of linking you, even if it takes a little while.

If you are caught setting up a second account after suspension there will be absolutely no way of ever getting back on.

Don’t give up hope at this point. It just may require a little extra time and money to get back on. It’s worth it if you want to sell authentic items.

In the future don’t list anything that you don’t have documentation for. Include a scan of the documentation in your listing. Black out any personal information, but leave enough that the eBay reps can confirm that it’s not a fraud.

You have an obligation to check out authenticity of such goods before selling them.

A simple statement stating that you did not have the documentation to prove their authenticity would have gone a long way to keep your eBay active.

Listen to the advice you receive here and hunt around on the net a bit. You might find some advice there. In the end though, I suggest you draft an email to ebay and apologize for any violation of the rules. State that you want to be a good ebayer and that you take your obligations to be a good member of the ebay community seriously. You’d like them to give you another chance to show you can be a positive benefit to ebay. State that in the future, you will take steps to ensure the authenticity of any merchandise you auction on ebay and that you will take seriously any notices you get from ebay. Point to the fact that you have a long history with ebay and until you ran into this series of problems, you had a achieved many positive feedbacks.

Basically, you dug a hole when you ignored ebay taking down your auctions. So they stopped using cryptic methods (removing without explanation) and lowered the hammer (banned). They want to make money from you, convince them that you won’t cause them any headahces in the future. Also, even if you don’t get a positive response the first time, keep trying, and make sure you remain polite.

Be careful about starting a new account while you’re still trying to unban this account. If ebay finds out you’ve opened a second account while still banned on the first, they’ll ban both accounts and good luck getting unbanned at that point.

I wish you the best. And I’m sorry you ran into this difficulty. It isn’t exactly "fair" but ebay is a private company and has a lot of discretion in who it allows to use it’s auction site.

dude, i am so sorry that eBay screwed you up. i totally understand your frustration because i once was suspended too. those customer service reps are retards and idiots. i sent them more than 10 emails to explain them what happened and all their answers are totally unrelated to what i asked. they just copy and paste their stupid standard question and guideline to piss you off.
you just can’t give up. if all of your goods are authentic, fight for it. open a yahoo group for people who have the same bad experience with eBay to join. take legal action and sue eBay if you get enough people. before you take legal action, make sure you have concrete evidence to proof authenticity of your goods.
    i wish you good luck!

One good solution is to stop using ebay altogether, to many rules and to much fraud … and fees are consistently on the rise. In my search for an alternative I came across a great auction website. http://www.onlineauctionexchange.com is a great place to start … No Listing Fees, No Commission or End-of-Auction Fees. Registration is free and only takes a few minutes. List your goods and services for a fraction of what you will pay eBay. And they even give you a whopping $1000 worth of credit at sign-up to use twards you auctions or to open your own online store. Great website … a must see.

If the watch and handbag are real, you could try having a jeweler certify that the Rolex was real and have a Gucci sales associate certify that the handbag is real also. With those items, you could then apologize for listing the TAG box and let them know that you were unaware that you were violating a policy.

I had my account suspended several years ago and was able to have it reinstated after showing a goodfaith effort to rectify the problem that caused the problem in the first place.

    Good luck!
